I always hear people that purchase things from the team. Where do they go to contact the team? Do they know someone in the organization? Does anyone know?

There are several ways to purchase direct from the team.

1) Team FanFests and Yard Sales
2) Some teams sell in their Stadium Shops
3) Some NFL teams sell right from their websites
4) MLB Auctions thru MLB.com have team auctions and the same for the NFL.com which is on eBay
5) Team Foundation Auctions that are held as dinners, golf outings

On the old Game Used Forum site, someone put together a great master list of team sites.

Hope that helps. Andrew

Forgot another great way,
(6) Buying thru dealers that have arrangements with the team that come with team letters. MeiGray with Texas Rangers, the NHL, and several NFL teams. Steiner has the NY Yankee collection.
(7) Dealers that have great connections with their local teams. There are several teams that come to mind such as Astros, Cardinals, Cubs and Nationals.

Email me if you need further help. Andrew info@AllstarsPlus.com

Eric,
That is a great list you posted. Much appreciated, thanks. I was just about to post the question but decided to do a search first figuring that I was not the only one in search of team contacts for game used items.

Any updates or additions?

I have a few links to add...

Hey Everyone,

I just wanted to chime in that I've been to the Milwaukee Brewers team store. I think I was there in March when I went to visit my sister in Sheboygan, WI (an hour or so north of Milwaukee). I was pretty unimpressed. They had a total of two (2) game worn jerseys. I don't even recall the players but they were $250 each. They also had around a half dozen bats or so and even the Chad Moeller bats were $125. Pretty expensive with not much selection (in my opinion).

When I was at PNC Park recentley, they didn't have any game used items for sale there. Was up in Minnesota and stopped at there team pro shop (not at the stadium, they have few around town) and they had some interesting game used items for sale. About 10 bats, ranging from $50-$150. Had nice Sierra cracked bat with mlb authenticated hologram for $50. A uncraked Silva sam bat for $150 I think. Bunch of Jerseys, from $150-$300. Mostly common guys or traded player's, no big names. Had 2 Juan Castro hats, one was BP cap. $30 each for them.......anybody else got updates from other teams????

I was at Fenway this week - $300.00 for a Kevin Youkilis M9 in 2 pieces. $300.00 for a left over Edgar Renteria, $300.00 Mike Lowell DBAT. Way overpriced, most bats are in 2 pieces. Lineup cards are $125.00.

Would the next person who visits the Astros' team store please pick up Clemens' game worn fielding glove for me? I'll pay you back. Thanks,

Reid

Angels,

Was this inside the park or across the street at the twin enterprise store. I have herd that they have a friend in the clubhouse that sells to them and then they resell, which would explain the pricing.

Did you see any game used jerseys? Back in May I got a merch catalog from the Sox and close to the back page it showed gamers and said that inventory changes frequently.

Just curious.

Good News!!! I assume at the team shop in Great American. I know Reds Fest is coming the first weekend in December. I hope they have a nice selection there as well. With the roster turnover this season, they should have a ton of jerseys.....

They stopped selling game used items for a while because the reds left sportservice millions of dollars worth of merchandise when they turned over control that they had to sell before they could get new items. Or at least that is what i was told.

MIke, I have not seen any game jersey's this year - I wa referring to the bats at twin enterprise - they are the official red sox store these days. The bats are all MLB authenticated. There are a couple of local stores that do have contacts within the clubhouse to get some bats also, although I have seen less and less come out through "sources" since they won the WS. I go to many games, i'll check back on any new items.

Just an FYI the number for the Brewers is outdated in the sense that the store is no longer getting new items. According to the guy I spoke with "they are going to somewhere else" and he had no other info. That might explain the post that suggested they had very little.

Hey Guys,
I go to alot of Rangers games. They sale quite a few game used bats, balls, and lineup cards. The bats range anywhere from 50 if on sale to 1,000 for Teix and Young. Most of the bats start at about 100.00 for players like Laynce Nix. They were having a sale last time I went and I actually picked up a nice Sandy Alomar Jr. uncracked bat for 50.00. I was very happy with that find. They had Richard Hidalgo, Dangelo Jimenez, and David Dellucci uncracked bats. But they had a ton of cracked and shattered bats from Mench, Alomar, Nix, Barajas and other scrubs as well. I am going back in a week and I hope they still have them on sale. The balls go anywhere from 30-50 depending on what team they played. Lineup cards 75-150 also depending on the team they played. I have heard they sometimes sell hats, but I have not seen them yet. I think they have a base or two but they are pretty expensive as well. I know to just stay away from them because I cant afford them.

Does anybody know whom I should contact at the team about obtaining a particular game used jersey from the White Sox?

Thanks for your help and please respond to goldstein@goldlaw.com as I often forget to check this site for answers to my questions.
