As I steadily build my collection, I'm sure this will change. My 3 favorites right now are:

2007 Jorge Posada Louisville Slugger P320 - photomatched to May 29, 2007. He hit an rbi single with and it was his 800th career rbi.

2003 Mark Grace Rawlings 256B - just got it in today. A beautiful bat from one of the classiest guys in the game. He had the most hits of anyone in the 90's, even more than Tony Gwynn.

1977-79 Bill Madlock Louisville Slugger C253 - of all the great hitters in the NL in the 70's, this guy won 4 batting titles. Around 1999, Mad Dog was a minor league hitting instructor for Toledo. I staked out his hotel and got him to sign it for me. Its a big ol' war club!

How about you guys?

I don't have many bats at all but for the ones I do have, here are my favorites:

1. Kurt Abbott game used 2000 World Series bat; held my Derek Jeter in Game 5 after Abbott shattered it and it landed in front of Jeter. Paid only $75 for it, but that was the price BEFORE I knew anything about Jeter holding it.

Another shot of it in his hands:

2. Edgar Renteria game used 2002 St. Louis Cardinals. I found out that this came from 1 of only 3 orders (out of 12 for the season) and I only paid $50 shipped for it and it already came with PSA/DNA letters

3. Glenn Hubbard game used bat. This was the first piece of game used memorabilia that I ever bought. Only cost me $25 about 5 years ago. I got it signed by Hubbard in 2003.

My three favorite bats are:

Brad Wilkerson MLB hologramed that was used on 4-4-05, the Nationals inagural game! (Very few of these out there.) :D

Alfonso Soriano Washington Nationals PSA graded 9.5. It has a freakin TON of use on it. Awesome bat from a historic 40-40-40 season!

Ryan Zimmerman MLB hologramed and autographed rookie season bat. It has a TON of use on it also and has a great signature and inscription.

(Thanks Andrew for the Soriano & Zimmerman):p

Here are my three favorite Cardinal bats. Bob Gibson HOF81, saw pitch many times and my favorite pitcher. He doesn't have 300 wins, but many a player can still remember the sound of that fast ball passing their ear........ Lou Brock HOF85, could always steal a base when needed. And the toughest bat I ever acquired, Cardinal 3B and announcer, Mike Shannon. That was a 10+ yr adventure and cost me a Brock gamer in trade. When was the last time you saw or owned a Mike Shannon game bat, would like to know??? Hope you all enjoy this photo..

I would love to have my Soriano bat that I posted a picture of on here photo matched. If anyone has time and likes to do that. The date on the end is 8-17-06, hopefully that can narrow the search.

My e-mail is SgtHalliburton@yahoo.com

Thanks,

1.Don Mattingly mid '90s Cooper-Let's face it,if you grew up in the tri-state in the '80s and rooted for the Yankees,Donnie Baseball was the man.
2.Jason Giambi 2000-2001 era Louisville G174-My favorite current player..despite the juice, loved the guy even when he played for Oakland and would KILL the Yanks.
3.Sal Fasano 2005 Sam Bat-It's Sal Fasano.Enough said.

A Luis Gonzalez Rawlings bat used in the 2001 post-season. Tons of use and filthy with pine tar, but uncracked.

A Louisville Slugger that Randy Johnson brought with him from Houston to ST in Tucson for the DBacks in '99. I've never seen another one of his Astros bats, and he put a really nice signature on this one.

A Louisville Slugger made for (then DBacks coach) Robin Yount in '03; borrowed and cracked by infielder Tony Womack, Yount inscribed it in black sharpie, "To Tony Dickhead, Happy Fungo Hitting" and put a nice signature on it.

2000mvpfan - Absolutely correct! I was 14 years old and living in Northern NJ when Donnie Baseball made a splash in 1984 and I loved him ever since. He was the greatest hitter I ever saw. Outstanding fielder too but man what a bat! He would inside out pitches and go the other way like he was putting on a clinic.

Donnie is the man!

That Yount bat isn't a fungo is it? I know, I know...why would Tony Womak be borrowing a fungo? I'm just asking in case it is...I'd love to see it.

Tino Martinez Game Used Bat - If I can't have a Mattingly, Tino will be my next pick for Yankees first basemen. He was there during the World Series Years.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v381/tfig27/Tino_web.jpg

Jorge Posada 2007 Game Used Bat from Clemens 350th Win - Posada is having an amazing year and his bats always have great characterisitics. This is Steiner/MLB authenticated and the best thing is, it only cost me $100!!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v381/tfig27/posada.jpg

Johnny Damon 2006 Game Used Bat - Most recent bat pickup, and it's one of my favorites. Damon is a great guy.

I'm thinking he got it in that Steiner $100 take a chance drawing they had a couple months ago. Quite a few Posada and Brosius abd Giambi bats came out of that.

Here are my three:

1990 George Brett C271. Beautiful use, tar and auto. Totally legit gamer of one of my favorites growing up.

1986-89 Robin Yount P72. Totally unimprovable. Nice tar, ball marks, autographed. The absolute nicest Yount I have ever seen! Another one of my favorites growing up.

2004 Vladimir Guerrero Xbat. Pounded with ball marks. Tons of pine tar. Nice autograph. PSA authenticated. One of my current favorites. Love no batting gloves. Tough player.

Jim,

yup, he is correct. i got it by taking part in there $100 bat lotto.
75% of the bats were either posada or giambi i believe.

so for $400 i got:
a posada bat
a giambi bat
a miguel cairo bat
a johnny damon used jason giambi model bat

the most bang for my buck i ever got from steiner

this lotto made up for the $200 one where i got a mark whiten bat

Have alot of bats I love, but will try an narrow to three:

1) Dave Kingman rookie era W215. His name is full in the facsimilie script. Only time you'd see it...

2) Dave Kingman pre-rookie Adirondack tee-pee label. Got it from Jim on the forum. Not replaceable...

3) Dave Kingman C235 84/85 label. Unfinished. Love unfinished bats, shows massive use. Bats are tools, not diamonds - don't care about beauty so much...

Honorable mention: McGwire WS bats, Thome Indians and White Sox bats hammered, Adam Dunn maple bat (unfinished) and hammered...

This will be the first time I've attempted to post photos to this board, so we'll see how it goes.

harpt asked to see the Yount bat, and astrosfan wanted to see pics of the RJ bat, so here (hopefully) are photos of all three of the bats that I wrote about.

Yeah, as long as the Yount bat is, I guess you'd have to call it a fungo!

There are only a couple of minor ball marks on the reverse of the barrel...about what you'd expect from one of Randy's bats.
