    Dustin Pedroia Question

Looking for a little help. I have a GU LVS M9 Pedroia bat with the #64 written on the knob/barrel. He wore this number during the end of last season and during spring training this year befor he changed to 15. Most pics that I found from last year have him using a SAM bat. This picture is from the first series this year. Its tough to see but I was wondering if anyone with picture skills could tell what # is written on the knob. Any help is appreciated.

I can see how it may look like a 5 but I was thinking it was a 2 digit number

Trying to see if itwas used late last year/spring training or early this year. i've handled a few Pedroia bats but this is the 1st I've seen with tape on the handle.

it's possible but it's the same model he has used in games for a long while now.

                  Re: Dustin Pedroia Question

Looks like his rookie number 64 turned at an angle (see top picture which was enlarged)

2nd photo: Pedroia with a similar taped handle bat during spring training 2007

3rd photo: Pedroia has used taped handle bats during the regular season as you can see on the last photo of Pedroia at bat on Opening day 4-10-07 vs Mariners.

Based on the pics below, I bet Pedroia had some bats from spring training that were taped and numbered with 64 that were used in early regular season games.

                    Bobby-
Thanks for the great pics. It looked like a 64 to me also but I wanted some other people's opinions. Good to see pics of the taped handle because the ones that I've seen recently have been untaped. Looks like its a spring training/beginning of the year bat as the pictures from late last year have him mostly using a SAM bat.
                    Thanks

                        Re: Dustin Pedroia Question

Dustin was either #15 or #64 and its not #15 and looks like a 64 with the circle part of the 6 worn away. The straight line from the 4 is below the worn away 6.

Try this photo from April 4th to match up the barrel end.
