I haven't done any business with Hartel Sports. On two separate occasions I have asked about certain jerseys that were on their website and their response was that they had been sold. This is fine but I think they need to update their inventory!

Just my 2 cents!

Mike

I've purchased many jerseys from Hartel Sports. They provide top-notch service, generally have very reasonable prices, and are nice people. They DO need a webmaster, though. I don't think the website is EVER updated!

I remember them offering me a game used and uncracked Johnny Bench bat at the Plymouth , Michigan show that former Detroit Free Press Writer Jim Hawkins used to promote. I thought, God........$100 for a bat, no wayyyyyyyyy!

If only I could have had that offer again.

I settled on a $5 Cracked Jerry Turner..........

They are long time, reputable dealers.

Forget the website and get on their mailing list. Their annual catalog is a must.

Have bought 3 jerseys from Bruce. He has some great deals on jerseys. I picked up a sweet '01 Mike Coolbaugh road w/ flag patch on neck and Home to Heroes patch for $107. He has a ton of Brewers jerseys. I'd highly recommend Hartels.

I agree with the above members. I've purchased jerseys on two different occasions and have always gotten great responses and quality jerseys. The catalog is a must though, because as the other members stated the site is rarely updated. I have 14 jerseys in my collection from Bruce, and all of them are top notch.

Simply One of the Best

Hartel Sports has been in business for around 20 years. I've dealt with them for years and they are nothing but a class act. Never, ever heard one bad word about them, and wouldn't believe it if I ever did hear one.

Bruce Hartel and Mike Armstrong are both gentleman, just as was Bruce's father, the late-Floyd Hartel, who was the main face of Hartel Sports at The National and other sports memorabilia shows until he passed away in 1997. Along with the late-Dick Dobbins from Alamo, California, Floyd was one of the finest and most respected dealers in the hobby. Bruce and Mike carry on that tradition.

Forget the website and ask for the catalogue. Some of their prices will knock you off your feet as there are bargains to be had. On a 10-point scale, these guys are an 11!

hartel gone awol

November 8 2005, 5:49 PM

So much for 'Hartel Sports'. After sending 2 emails last Friday morning, practically waving money at them, I still haven't received any response from Hartel.

Do they typically not answer emails? I used all 3 of the email addresses on their website. (one was bounced back as invalid). Does anyone know if they're currently
away or no longer in business? Is there a better way to reach them?

Even BlueChip answered my email after 3 days.

thanks,

Rudy.

It was my experience that they must only check the email once a day. If I emailed in the afternoon I would usually get a response the next day. Since it is over a weeked I suppose it is possible that they are just out of town.

Sometimes a little patience is necessary. I posted on the forum on Saturday evening requesting information about game worn hats that I didn't think was all that difficult to obtain. Maybe I should have posted something about some fraudulent item or bad seller. At least I would have gotten a response. It's extremely frustrating that a forum for the sharing of information takes so long to help those simply seeking information. I'm not even talking about just myself anymore, I know there are others that have had their posts go unanswered.

Sincerely,

Tim Byington

Hartel Sports is a second, or part-time job for Bruce, and sometimes emails take a while to get answered. Try calling, or just be patient. It can take a while to touch base, but it's generally worth it.
