Hi everybody,
The New Jersey Devils commemmorated the opening of Prudential Center in Newark last night by wearing three special sets of home red jerseys with a special Opening Night patch during their 4-1 loss to the Ottawa Senators.
This patch was produced ONLY for the game-worn jerseys, and only for Opening Night.
The NJ Devils-MeiGray Group Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program will be auctioning beginning later this week one set of game-worn jerseys.
I was in the Devils' locker room last night authenticating these sets of jerseys, which of course have been registered by their counterfeit-proof, individually serial numbered security tags.
These covert/overt security tags, as many of you know, are sewn into the jerseys by MeiGray before the players wear the jerseys.
Only one set will be available to the collecting public:
---The Devils' organization will be keeping one set of jerseys for its team archives.
---The Devils' players received one set of jerseys.
