I picked this bat up today and have 3 days to return it,I live 35 mins from John Taube and not sure how long it takes to get authenticated...But Lemme know if anyone has any info to get an idea if its legit or not...

Bat knob does not have 5 in marker but has JB3 on it
It has signs of use, seem marks and cleat marks
pine tar is evident on that bat
The handle is darker then the barrel
Its an r43

This bat is a store model bat as evidenced by the "JB3" stamp and the "Flame Tempered" branding next to the HB oval.

Johnny Bench signature model bats typically have a registered trademark after his signature. John Taube currently has a 77-79 GU Bench for sale on his website and you can see the registered trademark next to the signature.
