Currently on eBay is a Freddie Sanchez "game worn" jersey with the inscription of "2006 game used" by Sanchez but the washing tag is sewn on top the seam instead of inside of it:

I got this response from the seller:

"Hi Kyle,

We got a bunch of Game used vests from Freddie himself and each one of the wash tag sewn over the seam. The reason we were told is because Majestic had a excess of 6200 jerseys and they converted them to game issued.

I hope that helps.
Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks,
Jeremy"

there's a saying that goes "it's better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt".

so let me get this straight; majestic produced an "excess" of 6200 jerseys. first off, what does that even mean..an "excess"? more than they could sell off?

secondly, they produced an "excess" of 6200 jerseys, decided to give them to major league teams and so they went and removed all of the 6200 tags and replaced them with 0062 tags? why? i'm guessing 99.9% of the teams and players couldn't care less what the tags say. in fact, 6200-coded jerseys have found their way to the playing field while 0062 jerseys have been seen in retail stores, clearly indicating that not only does noone care (except for collectors) about the tagging but majestic doesn't even care to keep their stock perfectly straight. given this, it's clear that majestic has no qualms over sending 6200-coded jerseys to major league teams and would certainly not devote the time and expense to something as bloody stupid as replacing wash tags.

a part of me wondered if jeremy was complicit in the whole scam or whether he was just some innocent dupe. after hearing his response, i have my answer.

oh, i forgot to mention. jeremy received a number of all-star vests from freddie right? then why are the tags in both sets of auction photos identical? that is, it's obvious it's the same jersey he sold back in july. (likely someone returned it after seeing the wash tag).

Isn't it amazing that they always are Star Players and never the other 90%!
