Just picked up two more former Gophers NFL jerseys. WR Logan Payne and TE/Long Snapper Dereck Rackley. The Payne has the Upshaw patch only worn in the opening game. He had 2 catches for 25 yards, then was injured the following week and missed the rest of the 2008 season.

I am not a Packers fan or anything, and I have seen plenty of great pieces over the years but that might be the best jersey in the hobby, in my opinion. Based on it being a Nitschke, from the years of the Green Bay dynasty, based on it having great game use and repairs but still in nice shape, and based on the amazing obvious photo match. Congrats. Had to come back and look again.
I don't think I have ever seen a jersey with as many obvious, clear photo matches in one photo either, there must be 15 or so, counting repairs, threads, snags, marks etc. All so obvious too. Amazing.
And Nitschke is arguably one of the top five (two?) best linebackers of all-time, certainly in the 60s he was among the top three and Sport Magazine said he was the best, better than Butkus.

Last week I had the absolute pleasure of hooking up with one of my all time favorite 49ers Brent Jones. Beside being a great TE he is just a supreme gentleman and a great all around guy. He didnt have to hook me up at all but went out of his way to sign all of his gamers that i have, exactly how I asked. What a treat! He was happy to see his 1994 game used shirts which reminded him of "the good old days" as he put it!

Here are some 49ers shirts that I have been meaning to post but have not had time to photograph them. They came from various sources and show varying levels of game use.

1996 Touchdown Tommy Vardell home gamer with 50th patch and good game use. Accompanied by team letter of sorts.

1993 Dana Hall away gamer with nice use, repairs and 4 flag tags-size, length and two date code tags.

1991 Steve Bono gamer with date code flag tag and Wilson W on left sleeve only. My 3 year old's Soda Pop Thomas holds the date flag tag down!

2005 Adam Synder Mexico City gamer with NFL Auctions paperwork. This jersey was obtained thru Ebay when NFL Auctions was still using Ebay to sell items.

1996 Gino Torretta away gamer with custom sleeves and 50th patch. LOA from Wayne Otto.

Always buying 49ers gamers especially 1994 gamers and ANY shirt with team letter. Paying top $$$$ for quality 49er gamers as well as a nice finders fee!

Found it from a collector off the board. I am hoping to get the chance to get a few more in a few weeks. He has a Sanchez Issued, but for some reason the neck tag was removed (stitching still there) but haven't pulled the trigger on it. Has all the other tagging, extra length, made in berlin, etc. It's a size 52 which I am not sure what he wears, either.

I can assure you that Sanchez never wore a size 52...EVER...he wears, and has always worn a size 44. He wears one of the tighter QB jerseys in the league, and Mark is not big by any stretch of the imagination.

Like Jhunt said Mark has and always wore a 44. JO sports CO sold a few of his jerseys and still have pics up you can see the size in them. While Mark seems small he is not fat but he is pretty tall.

Just picked up this terrific Steelers helmet. The helmet was originally worn by #49. I'm thinking the helmet was recycled by the team and the #4 was removed and replaced with it's current #2. Other than the team-initiated # change, the helmet looks to be 100% original.

William Floyd 1994 throwback also worn vs the Bucs-first home TD of his career. Team letter.
Jerry Rice 1990-93 practice shirt. Used for at least 3 seasons, no nameplate but "Bronco" tape where NP should be stating "Jerry Rice nameplate". Equipment managers letter.
Roger Craig 1989 home playoff shirt worn vs Vikings with Bronco team letter
Joe Montana 1990 home vs Falcons-worn 9/23/90 with team letter and nice use. Size 46 with CV date code.
Brian Jennings home International Series shirt from London game. He is only player left on the team that was on a 49er team with Jerry Rice! 12 seasons as the long snapper. One of my favorite 9ers! NFL auctions.

This jersey was actually worn when he pulled the finger to Buffalo Bills fans and was ejected. Definitely had a rough character, but brought some needed toughness to years of soft D-fense in Miami.

I agree he wasn`t productive with the Bears, but actually ended up being a key player for the Jets later on. He has now been hired to work as LB coach in Miami.

My 49ers have done NOTHING in free agency so I expect that this season may be a wash. Crabtree is already out for 4-6 weeks with a foot injury and Gore is holding out! Great start for Harbaugh. UGH!

Roger Craig 1989 home gamer worn vs Vikings in playoffs with team letter and Bronco Tape. This is the ONLY shirt I have ever seen that has the Russell tag on the BACK! The tape is so old and stiff that it has fallen off the shirt but the stain can still be seen on the back which is an unusual location for it.

I have seen "Bronco Tape" all over the place. It was usually on the nameplate but I have seen it on the inside of the shirt, by the tags, stuck to the LOA, on the back or front #s or almost anywhere.

I still do and enjoy it but I am almost distraught that my 49ers have done SQUAT in free agency! I am not sure what their plan is but maybe they are trying to position themselves to draft Luck? I could see this turning into one long, losing season! UGH!

A few recent pickups:

1994 Deion Sanders away throwback vs Chargers-he had 90 yard INT returned for a TD in this game. Autographed with team letter which is also signed!

1994 William Floyd throwback with open sleeves worn vs. Bucs. This goes great with the Watters I have from this game (thanks Clay!!!!). Equipment managers letter and some nice hits. Floyd wore this shirt for his 1st home TD!

Mid 90s Rice possible gamer turned into practice shirt with "Bronco tape" and equipment managers letter. One can easily see the old outline of the nameplate and evidently where the team wanted it to be sewn back. Also bottom of shirt has been hand cut and evidently that was supposed to be fixed as well.

Jason-a few months ago when I was at JO, I picked up a TO gamer and, like yourself wanted the one with the most use. I looked thru every TO they had (at that time they had 4 or 5) and the one that had the most use was the shirt that he wore in his last game and had NO catches!!! It was such a shame because it had such nice hits, field paint etc but I wanted one where he at least had A catch! So I ended up with a different home Bengals shirt with slightly less use but one that he caught a pass wearing.

So even though the Bengals gamer you have is not destroyed, maybe he had a great game in it! If you know the game it was used then look up his stats. Remember that with these Bengals gamers many of the players wore one shirt a game so less use is just reality these days.

Just picked up this vintage Kansas City Chief's sideline jacket/sweater. It was made by Sand-knit and all of the letters and numbers are sewn on. The jacket is made out of Orlon and wherever this baby was stored, they did it right. NOT a hole, tear or pull on it and the colors are as vibrant as the day it was made.

The eBay Seller had a incredible array of baseball, football and hockey jackets and jerseys. Through the years, not many of these jackets have surfaced and I was fortunate to get this one.

I would like to see your NFL jerseys. It does not have to be star players. Some of the jerseys I like best in my collection are considered common players. Here is a couple of jerseys that I have not show before.

The Kevin Greene jersey is from 93. I did not get this one from Kevin but had him look at it and he said it was definately his. He always wore a size 50 +6.

The Alstott is from 2003. It was worn vs the Panthers on 9-14-03 and vs the Falcons 9-21-03. It has nice wear on the shoulder that makes it easy to photo match. It is a size 50.

Once again Denver Autographs has done a great job with gamers I sent them to be signed. This time the show was in Santa Clara and the only bummer was that Michael Crabtree cancelled. Seems like he has cancelled his career! Three training camps and he has missed ALL 3!

Vernon Davis did show up and signed both his 2010 International Series Jersey and his ROOKIE practice shirt (photo-matched).

Jerry Rice 1993 preseason away gamer vs. Raiders-photo-matched to a nice shot of Rice with his son in the LA Coliseum. He was happy to sign it as a "gamer". He refused to sign my friend's "Miracle in the Meadowlands" gamer from 1988 "game used", saying that he has ALL of his jerseys from significant games! He was very nice about it though and did just sign the shirt. From what my buddy told me it seemed like Rice knew that it was his jersey from that game (my buddy has a Bronco letter stating such) but was pissed that Bronco had sold it and his agent even said "not another Bronco letter"! What was interesting is that I sent a copy of my team letter from 1993, signed by Carmen Policy, and Rice had NO problem with that letter. Maybe because mine was a preseason shirt and his was from a famous game that made the difference.

Steve Young 1994 throwback worn on MNF vs. NO where he threw 4 TD's. Notice the difference in the Young sigs from 1994 and from 2011. i like the 1994 version way better!

Here's an item that doesn't show-up every day - a yellow Duke football. Signed by members of the 1952 Washington Redskins when Curly Lambeau was a coach. All of the signatures on the ball, including the Lambeau, where examined by PSA and all were deemed "authentic". And the ball still holds air.

34swtns-Thanks much! It means a lot to me that other collectors enjoy seeing the collection. It is one of the many reasons that I collect with such passion, as I am sure you do with Da Bears!

Starting in 1991 and switching to gamers in 94, while living in SF, really helped. I was able to meet many GU collectors that I still correspond with today. Many of the new additions are from collectors and dealers that I have done business with since 94. I had a lull in GU collecting from 1998-2005 but caught the bug again after buying a Derrick Loville 94 SB worn throwback. After that I was hooked and have been fairly lucky at times.

Also offering good $$$ for collector's gamers really helps "push" the sale along! I cant tell you how many times I have been able to purchase a shirt that has been for sale (or even not for sale) by making a GOOD offer. It also helps open the door to networking and additional purchases.

You have a great Bears collection and with JO getting the shirts it is sometimes too easy (but expensive) to get what you want. I try to only buy current players that I like (if they are cheap enough) or possible superstars at reasonable prices. I dont think you can go wrong with vintage football gamers as there always seems to be a market for them. People tend to remember the "good old days"-like the 94 49ers. Shirts from such teams tend to hold their value. Todays shirts are produced in such #s that, unless the shirt is from an important game, value tends to drift down-almost like a used car!

Just picked up my first 2 Game Used jerseys, well technically I purcahsed them over a week ago, but recieved them in the mail on Friday. I'm over all very pleased, and was so surprised to see that the numbers material is a lot different than my authentic Dolphins jersey I own. Are all game jerseys like this? I also noticed I can see mesh holes on the numbers, almost as if the white material is some what transparent. Very unique jerseys and I'm very satisfied with the two jerseys.

Well up first is a game worn Jay Fiedler vs Chicago Bears in 2002 (I believe it was the only time the Dolphins ever wore the patch thats on it. I'm not 100% positive and am sure some of you would know exactly. Please don't hate me if I'm wrong on this ;) ) The patch is a little stained and beat up, but overall looks really cool. I bought the jersey on a very weird website that isin't even known for selling jerseys, but in fact known for selling Dolls and Barbies. It came with team COA. It's also autographed by Jay Fiedler, both certificate and jersey. Would love for a Dolphins expert to let me know if the Signature is in fact real. I paid practically nothing for the jersey so if the Sig is indeed fake I can take the loss, because the jersey in itself is absolutely awsome. I was able to photo match this to jersey worn against Bears from Getty Image.

Robert is the man at JO. If you are in Las Vegas go to their store and check it out. It is a 20 minute cab ride from the strip and well worth the trip. I went there when I was in Vegas a few months ago and saw so much cool stuff it was ridiculous! Plus getting to meet everyone is nice so you can put a face to the name. A very cool and worthwhile side trip.

Thanks Preston! I really appreciate the autograph consultant. I'm more attracted to the classy players of the sport just because I feel they are the ones who I've always tried to model myself after growing up as a kid. One of the most classy players I've always had an obsession for growing up was Barry Sanders, just class all around. Don't get me wrong I like the entertainment of the modern NFL players. IE, T.O, Neon Deon, Ocho. But when looking into game jerseys the character of the player and what he stood for as a leader and role model is one that plays a major role in me buying that specific player. Call me old school I guess haha. I've met Pennington at Hofstra Jets training camp with my father and he was indeed a very stand up guy. I heard stories when he first entered the Dolphins organization that he would shake everyones hand leading up to game time from ushers, to field security. Fiedler I have never met, but I know he was the same way. I like to collect Jewish players jerseys, for the fact there are so few. Completely agree...Pennington is from Knoxville and is as southern as can be and is completely real and like he is "on tv" - can't be said for people like Favre, Marshall Faulk, Deion Sanders, Warren Sapp and plenty of others...but I agree w/ you in that it's a much better feeling to get a gamer of someone who's not only a good player but a good GUY too.

Yes, I have Titans gamers of Pacman, Haynesworth and VY in my collection, but I also have good guys like D-Mase, McNair (regardless of that "situation" he had a HUGE heart and did so many things for people that no one knew about, and was awesome to fans), KVB, Kearse etc.

Ah nice always good to meet a Titans fan. I've always was a big Titans jersey fan. Always was a Mcnair fan as well. I heard he was really good with kids. I thought people praised Faulk? I've always looked at him on NFL network to seem a bit fake acting. Kurt Warner, and Mooch and of course Rich I'd say are the real nice guys of the set. I've always wanted a Warner jersey. That guy does more things for kids with major disabilities than anyone I have ever seen in my life. Amazing heart that guy has. Even with all the millions of dollars he has, he still goes out of his way. He even took a kid with no jaw bone structure on a trip with him and his family to disney world. If that doesn't bring tears to a human beings eyes then I don't know what does.

I'm probably not the best at giving an appraisal just because, with my Titans source that I've gotten the majority of my jerseys from, it's not that that expensive on the wallet. But a full matching uniform does obviously have some added value above a jersey/pants set of a player that don't both correspond to the same game (which I have a few sets like that).

And sometimes you get really good deals, too! Even if you got the Fiedler dirt cheap, it could be cheap for a number of circumstances (i.e. someone just wanting to dump it, someone not knowing what they have, etc) - I found an Albert Haynesworth gamer at Goodwill for $4.49 after my student ID - and I definitely know it's worth more than THAT! ha ha ....just a matter of circumstance

Wow Preston I had no idea! Maybe thats why I always see Faulk authentic jerseys selling for so cheap on eBay. Faulk should be better then that, but you can't expect all million dollar athletes to be people persons.

And wow on finding that Fat Albert jersey for 4$ I didn't pay that little for my set of Pennington and Fiedler uni, but I didn't pay that far off from that haha. Yeah I'll have to look them up on eBay to see what they sell for. I just have not seen either of these jerseys hit eBay in a while. I heard the Pennington was rare because it's an 09er and he didn't wear many jerseys from 09 due to shoulder injury. I'm new so I'm going off of what someone told me, and can't really hold the information accountable of being 100% accurate.

I'm sure its a real fan favorite, and must be awsome to own it before his passing. (God rest his soul) but that is really an awsome piece. I'm sure you'll never part with it, and God bless you for not wanting to. I once saw a Sean Taylor Redskins white game worn jersey sell for over 40 grand at auction. I can imagine McNair is right up there in value due to him being a well liked man who was killed with innocent intentions. Amazing stuff as always, Paul! I love seeing those older jerseys. It's especially amazing when you think of how unbelievable it is that these things even exist after 15+ years and weren't disgarded or left sitting in a box in storage somewhere.
I used to collect 1st generation (1967-1971) Hot Wheels and Johnny Lightning die-cast toy cars and I never ceased to be amazed when I would acquire one that was still in the original package. The idea that this thing even exists after all this time is incredible much less that it's in this condition. Time has a way of making things disappear but isn't it great that some people have the foresight to save things when they could just as easily toss them out?

I used to have a nice collection and sold it to help pay some things off. The only thing in my collection now is a pair of Will Allen BCA gloves from when I was in Miami in Oct. of 2009.

A quick update on the TO Eagles photo-match. I have (with the help of Tasso P.) matched the shirt to at least 4 games and possibly the entire season. There is a loose thread coming off the NFL shield and it is a perfect match to a # of different game photos. Also the repair on the back matches up to images from the Steelers and Browns games.

The angle of placement of the Reebok tag matches up with images from multiple games as does the 2 added spandex inserts coming off the elastic waistband. The mesh pattern in the front 8 also matches up perfectly with the pattern on an image from early in the season.

I am sure there are other hits, marks plus the shirt has 2 other repairs which I have not tried to match up yet.

I will post the getty images of the matches next but here are the images of the jersey matches.

It is quite cool that TO wore the same white jersey for the entire season. i was told that for 2004 each player only got 3 jerseys that season (home, away and alternate) but may have been issued a new shirt for the playoffs. if someone can confirm this please let me know.

Big thanks to fellow board member John Giles for this one

Jimmie Giles game worn away jersey.
Although the jersey wasn't dated as to game use I was able to narrow it down to most likely having been used during the 1979 season based on the thick orange outline on the shoulder numerals and the fact that I was also able to find an undated video clip of Jimmie catching a TD pass against the Giants where immediately afterwards he is surrounded by Darryl Carpenter and Tony Davis whose only year together on the Bucs was 1979. The jersey he was wearing in the clip also had the same type of shoulder numerals as well as the numerals on the left shoulder being pressed more to the back of the jersey rather than right on top of the shoulder......the same as the jersey pictured here.
It can't be definitively matched to that particular game without better footage, of course, but I think 1979 is at least the correct year for this one. It has 4 team repairs, some cracking of the front numbers and some staining but otherwise it's in great shape.

Jimmie Giles game worn away jersey.
Although the jersey wasn't dated as to game use I was able to narrow it down to most likely having been used during the 1979 season based on the thick orange outline on the shoulder numerals and the fact that I was also able to find an undated video clip of Jimmie catching a TD pass against the Giants where immediately afterwards he is surrounded by Darryl Carpenter and Tony Davis whose only year together on the Bucs was 1979. The jersey he was wearing in the clip also had the same type of shoulder numerals as well as the numerals on the left shoulder being pressed more to the back of the jersey rather than right on top of the shoulder......the same as the jersey pictured here.
It can't be definitively matched to that particular game without better footage, of course, but I think 1979 is at least the correct year for this one. It has 4 team repairs, some cracking of the front numbers and some staining but otherwise it's in great shape.

Lifelong Bengals fan and just picked up my first gamer. A 2003 Carson Palmer rookie season away white jersey (hard to photomatch, but have similar stripes in attached pic, but angles make it hard) so it was either worn during a pre-season game or during the regular season holding a clipboard while Jon Kitna took every snap of the season. Has Bengals Team Shop price tag still attached and original purchase receipt. Hopefully he continues to improve with the Raiders!

2006 Verron Haynes Steelers Super Bowl helmet

I bought this helmet from someone who bought Verron Haynes storage locker. His jersey was not there but got the helmet and he sent many extra items including a photo from the Championship Game photo matching the inside of the helmet and a photo matching the odd allignment of the 3. Also included was a signed photo from George Bush after their visit to the White House, some paycheck stubs, a check from NFLPA that was not cashed ($1.56) and other personal papers. A great item and super excited to get it. Also in the locker were his game worn pants and pads, but other than that was mostly papers. Seller also included an Elbow Sleeve labled SUPERBOWL ELBOW SLEEVE from ProOrthopedic Devices.

1994 Steve Young away throwback with team letter worn vs. Chargers in regular season. In the process of photo-matching it now. His jerseys are the hardest to match up as they show the least wear. Surprisingly the game dvd does not show that many close ups of him standing still, in the huddle or on the sideline. This only makes it that much harder to match up.

Always buying 49er gamers and ALL 1994 49er GU items. Paying a finders fee for any quality GU 49er items!

Please post what you think of the smell as you get the jerseys sent out from this season.

Just the shirt from the IS game which shows nice game use, is photo-matched and WAS the WORST smelling jersey I have ever owned!!! I left it on my lanai (terrace for you mainlanders) for a week until my wife would let it in the house.

I have attached images of the shirt hanging out so to be. In the last image you can see Waikiki and the ocean in the background!

Nice jersey. I would lean against washing it though because it will greatly reduce the value of the item in most collectors minds. Plus you probably will wash off the NFL PSA sticker. A suggestion would be to try to air it out.

Falcon-Please do NOT wash the JA gamer!!! I have a Frank Gore from 2010 that smelled like Hotel street at 4AM! I kept it on my lanai for about a week and now it smells much better. Also washing it will remove other game use and detract from its value.

I heard Ashley LeLie was CEO of the Hawaii part of a new semi-pro football league. He was on the sports-animals on the radio, a few days ago and it sounded fascinating.
