Mulligans- great shirts!!!

With all the legal issues surrounding JO, now is probably the BEST time to buy from them! I am sure Jared is making absolutely sure that each and every shirt he sells is 100% game used as the last thing he needs is additional legal issues.

Plus my feeling is that the company could use an influx of $$$ and that some nice bargains can be had. As always doing one's homework is essential but I do not have any issues with purchasing a gamer from JO now, as long as I am satisfied that it is authentic.

With the team partnerships for next season in limbo, the game worn NFL marketplace may be somewhat altered. Some teams may not sell as much or may sell via other dealers or companies. I would not be surprised to see quite a few teams selling their gamers themselves. How that translates to pricing who knows but we will find out soon enough!

Let's keep this thread alive! The season is almost here and it should be a good one!

Every Jags jersey I have seen, even the issued, seemed to be made of the same material of the MJD. So I believe the team did wear the style of Mulligans' MJD.

Just picked up an Eagles Tim Rossovich "gamer" from 1969. The helmet is hammered with wear. The helmets on the upper shelf, have painted-on wings while the helmets on the bottom row have decals.

Love the Iggles gamers! A couple of quick questions for you. One, the white shell helmet with green wing decals seems like the decal (almost looks like paint) has chipped away, is that the case? Two, in regards to the Rossovich helmet, do you know how long the painted, white wings on the green shell helmet lasted for? Finally, is the painted silver wings on painted green shell, one bar helmet a HH repo or a gamer too?

Thanks....The Red is from the Patriots where Mathews had 130 Yards and a TD. I was lucky to be at the game.

Here is another cool RB.....165 Yards and a TD against Pittsburgh.

A few new 49er pickups with 4 more on the way!

Steve Young complete uniform (minus helmet/cleats), from 1998 preseason as well as 1997 regular season. Shows outstanding game use.Tentative photo-match to the 1998 preseason game vs Miami. I do not have the 97 season on DVD so have not matched it but was told the uni was worn in 1997 and the sleeves were then cut for the 98 season.

Earl Cooper mid 80s away gamer with multiple repairs-a Russell beauty and notable because Cooper originally wore #49 when he caught Montana's first career SB TD pass.

Larry Roberts mid 80s home gamer with at least 10 repairs. Another Russell with tons of game use.

Dennis Brown 1995 home gamer with nice use, a couple small repairs and custom sleeves. Brown is 1 of 3 starters on the 1994 team whose 94 gamer I am missing.

Lee Woodall 1995 away gamer. Woodall is also one of the players from the 1994 SB season whose 94 shirt I am missing!

If anyone has ANY 1994 49er gamers for sale/trade please shoot me an email! I am looking for ANY player from the 1994 season and will pay handsomely for quality gamers.

Attached are a couple of photos of what I believed was a Y.A. Tittle, Giant jersey, that I bought years ago. Tagging is gone. It as about 6 repairs on it. From what I can see in pictures the font is from the late 50's. After all these years I have yet to convince myself, one way or another, that it is a real Tittle. What do you think? I keep thinking I'll frame it and put it on the wall. As a kid he was one of my favorites.

Golden Tate 9/11/11 Game Used jersey against the 49ers. Golden caught and scored his first TD in this jersey. The jersey is unwashed and likely used in at least one other game as there is a team repair on it. The jersey is tagged as a 2009 jersey even though Tate was drafted in 2010.

Ty Law 2008 game used Jets jersey. The jersey has a shortened/hemmed waist with no elastic in it. When Ty Law returned to the Jets Revis was wearing #24 so Law was then issued #22, his college number. The jersey has a Jets team LOA with it.

Cris Carter 1994 game used jersey
This jersey was in the original GUU auction. I was able to pick it up a few years later. There is a team repair on the shoulder and the placement of the Starter logos looks to have it more towards the end of the season. The inside of the 75th anniversary patch has been repaired. The tags on the front consist of a 94 year tag and size 40 Long

My last pickup for a while as I am fairly broke after this one!!!

If any 1994 49er gamers pop up I am sure I could scrounge together the $$$ to buy those as well!

1995 Jerry Rice away, photo-matched gamer worn 12-24-1995 vs. the Atlanta Falcons. A special piece as Rice broke several records in this game.

Rice threw the ONLY TD pass of his career to rookie JJ Stokes-a 41 yard strike on a failed reverse. He also recovered a fumble in the EZ for a TD.

Rice caught 12 passes for 153 yards, shattering the single season receiving yards record with 1848 yards and 15 TDs!

Rice broke his own career record of single season catches with 122 grabs.

Numerous photo-matches including the manner in which the nameplate is attached as the lower border arches towards the middle, small hole in the back of the right sleeve and loose threads on the lower right corner of the nameplate.

A style match with respect to the alignment of the NFL shield, the Wilson shields on the sleeves (as they are positioned with regards to the sleeve #s) plus the font on the nameplate is a dead match (important for 49er gamers as the font sometimes changed from game to game).

I also have the JJ Stokes jersey from this game and they make a great pair!

The photo-match images I have are too large to attach so I am going to reshoot the photo-matches so I am able to post em.

Marlon (mardar)-thanks for the reply! One of my favorites is the Watters you sold me! Others include my Lott from the 1987 Bengals game, my Jeff Fuller, Charles Haley, Hacksaw Reynolds and my 1994 Bryant Young away non-throwback rookie worn vs KC and Montana.

It is almost a full time job this hobby but rewarding although highly draining financially!

2009 Randy Moss game used jersey. The jersey is unwashed and has PSA/DNA sticker from NFL auctions. The jersey was worn in the International game against the Bucs. The jersey has the International series patch as well as the 50th anniversary Patriots/AFL patch. There are Wembley Stadium grass stains, chalk, and red paint or gatorade stains on the jersey. One of my favorite jerseys in my collection!

Moss is somebody I would love to own a GU item from someday. Years ago the Vikings use to sell their own worn jerseys on their site and I regret not getting one of his back then.

Thanks for the kind words Shipp. This Moss is buried in some of the previous pages, but I recently rephotographed it. This jersey is a 2004 Moss with Vikings team letter. The jersey has single game use I believe and has been washed. It is easily photomatched against the Jaguars where he caught a TD in the back of the endzone. Even after washing, the front numeral markings and loose thread on the "4" matchup nicely. This was my first big football purchase and is displayed next to my Carter jersey.

Photo-matches for my 1995 away Jerry Rice gamer worn 12-24-1995 vs Atlanta when he broke the all-time receptions record held by Art Monk as well as the single season receiving yards record with 1848.

It is also the ONLY game in which he threw a TD pass in his career!

Matches include:

the manner in which the nameplate is attached and how it forms an arch along the bottom

small hole on back of right sleeve

placement of Wilson shields on both sleeves.

The 1995 season was the only time that the Wilson shield was worn on players sleeves. The shields were worn seemingly at random, with some players sporting them and others not, in the same game. They were placed in various locations in relationship to the numbers. With this jersey they are placed slightly lower than the top of the #s. I have looked at the other away games in which Rice had the shields and there are two other games (Saints, Colts) in which the shields are similarly aligned. The mesh pattern inside the front 8, from the Colts game, does not match the pattern of the 12-24-95 shirt. I have yet to watch the 49er-Saints game to determine if the same shirt was worn in both games yet.

I do much of the photo-matching early morning or after my wife and son are asleep. If I tried to do this amount of DVD watching, picture taking, editing and examining of gamers with them around, my wife would kill me!!!

I get up fairly early (4:30 AM) and usually read and look at potential photo-matches until 6:00 AM when I go to work. When my son takes his nap on the weekend, I start pulling out the gamers and taking pictures etc.

I basically use the small bits of time I have to do what I can when it comes to the collection.

Photo-matching is probably the most time consuming part of the entire process of determining if an item is authentic and if so, when it was worn. It has taken me up to an entire week to match certain jersey with little use and as little as a couple hours for shirts with distinctive hits, field paint or repairs.

At times my wife does get somewhat bent of of shape when I am in front of the computer, watching the same DVD over and over and examining a smelly gamer. I usually reserve those particular matches to when she is on call overnight.

This hobby can be extremely rewarding especially when a match pops up like this Rice shirt!

Yes, I did sell a James Harrison with a pink chinstrap...not a famed but a very cool helmet. That is me playing against Josh Mallard. He was wearing his helmet from when he played with the Broncos. Very cool to play against him, tried to trade him helmets, but it was a no go, lol.

I bought the helmet from you and still have it in my collection. I know its not a 100% a gamer B/C of the different date codes. But I recently took it to a benefit and got Harrison to sign it. I also got Batch Keisel and Clark on it. Knowing Harrison does not like to sign items by himself when others are there. Any way Keisel Swore it was Harrisons game lid. Harrison looked it over for 15 min and held up the line. He said the 92 on the inside is what threw him off B/C that's in his helmets. Went on to say I don't know I don't let too many of my helmets go.
Either way its a cool piece and now its signed. Thanks for selling it.55458

Thank you sir! I've seen velcro on several of his - some white velcro, some black like this one. And he's had more different sizes than any player I've ever seen due to all the injuries, particularly when he had to wear the gear to protect his sternum and back. He's worn sizes ranging from 46-54

Here is a preseason used jersey of Niko Noga during his short stint w/ my Falcons. Niko Noga was probably one of the earliest UH players I can remember going to watch play at Aloha Stadium. I think I was about 9 years old...

A couple new pickups including:

1997 HOF defensive end Chris Doleman away gamer with TONS of use/repairs.

1998 Herman Moore Pro Bowl gamer. Moore traded his jersey for Steve Young's jersey after the game and had it framed and displayed in his house. Moore eventually consigned most of his collection to Huggins and Scott a couple of years ago and I won the Steve Young PB gamer.

The Moore jersey is really cool in that he caught a TD pass from Young and when he went into the EZ, the nameplate was covered in pink/red field paint. The jersey was washed by the 49ers but the field paint stain never washed out neither did Moore's autograph on the back # 4!

My friend who was the junior assistant equipment manager for the 49ers for 6 years knew I had the Young shirt and sold me the Moore PB shirt that Young gave him. The funny thing is that Young did not want the Moore shirt and just gave it to my buddy. My friend also told me that there was a considerable amount of stuff that was always left at the team HQ in the off-season and that many times that included cleats, helmets, tons of gloves and a jersey now and then.

Also sent 3 1994 49er gamers to Lon Lewis for restoration including a throwback Richard Dent worn vs the Bears in the playoffs which had the 75th patch removed by the team. Will post images once he returns them.

Another nice pickup to go along with my very limited early 2000's 49ers GU collection. I was never fond of the jersey style from 1996 through 2006 and couple that with the fact that the 49ers were just dreadful from 1999 to 2008 and you end up with very, very few gamers from that time span.

2003 Garrison Hearst away game worn jersey with nice use
2002 Eric Johnson away gamer with outstanding game use. Picked this one up on eBay many years ago and kept it because Johnson, being a Yale grad, was smart enough to hook up with Jessica Simpson!!!

Ken Norton Jr. 1986 Rose Bowl worn gamer with LOA from Norton Sr. Quality game use and really beautiful rose embroidery on the shoulders.

2012 Terrell Owens seattle Seahawks preseason worn away gamer. New Nike jersey with interesting neck tags.

1984 Michael Carter Pro Bowl worn jersey. Carter was issued #94 for the pro bowl that year as Richard Dent wore #95. One of the largest jerseys I have!!!

2002 Garrison Hearst away gamer. Purchased from Wayne Otto at ProAm Sports. Wayne mentioned that the 49ers had left a number of superstar gamers in the boxes and boxes of jerseys he bought from them. A really nice gamer with good use, hits, a repair between the back numbers and custom side inserts.

Willis McGahee game used road white worn 11/6/11 @ Oakland.
20 carries, 163 yards, 2 TD's

I now have both his jersey's worn against the raiders, 1st was the orange alternate worn 1st game of the NFL season last year, which also was McGahee's official debut with the broncos.

Absolutely used and abused. What can you NOT photomatch with this jersey! The pictures definitly don't do it justice. Obvious photomatch is the 1x1 inch tear on the right shoulder.

Won a sweet J J Stokes home rookie gamer with team letter last week off of eBay and could not be happier. Had been looking for one ever since 1999, when I sold the one I had purchased from MOS back in 1996. Funny thing is that I paid 750$ from MOS but only 300$ on eBay.

My son loves checking out the collection and he especially liked a William Floyd gamer. Floyd was #40 and my son's 4th birthday was last week.

First 2010 Giants with New Stadium Patch I have seen...The Giants only wore this patch for the first game of the new stadium against the Panthers. Worn by Chase Blackburn and also has the Captain C patch as he was the special teams captain.

A few new additions spanning almost the last 30 years of professional football!

1984-85 USFL Stallions Joe Cribbs gamer with great use, multiple repairs and custom hem. I have a 1986 Cribbs complete 49ers uniform with the rare 40th anniversary patch on the pants and I thought that the USFL shirt would go nicely with it.

I have been a bit wary of Mile High Auctions ever since they sold a 1994 Jerry Rice gamer that was so obviously fake that it was amusing. Combined with the fact that they did not remove it from the auction after I emailed/spoke to them, I was hesitant to bid in their auctions. After looking through their past auction results and seeing a number of seemingly quality items, I took a shot with the Cribbs and could not be happier.

2011 Frank Gore 9-11 gamer acquired from GUU's own Jeff of "Game Used Authentic". Jeff is the penultimate collector/seller and, as always it is a pleasure doing business with him. The Gore is a classic piece, worn in a historical game and is photo-matched.

Always looking for 49er game worn items, especially 1994 gamers and vintage shirts such as Dwight Clark and Fred Dean.

Paying up to a 500$ finders fee for quality information that leads to a sale!

Joe Cribbs 1986 49ers uniform with the rare 40th anniversary patch. This patch was worn on the pants for the 1986 season but few survive as most pants were recycled and the patch removed for use in 1987.

My new 1984-85 USFL Cribbs shirt goes nicely with the 1986 uniform. I had planned to post all the images together but for some reason the 49er images did not load onto my previous post.

Another addition that I do not think I have posted is a 1986 Michael Carter Pro Bowl gamer. This is one of the largest jerseys I have ever seen. Carter was one of my favorite players of his era and the only player to win an Olympic medal (shotput) and a SB ring in the same season (1988).

Also posted are two late 80s 49er Carter home shirts, both hammered with use. The second was a gamer that had been converted into a practice shirt, with the nameplate removed. It has also been lengthened considerably by adding a piece of an old Russell gamer to the bottom. The shirt still has both tags on it!

Wes Welker 2011 MHK game worn Patriots jersey

This is a game worn jersey from perhaps Wes Welkers finest stretch of his career. This jersey was worn in Week 1 of the 2011 season against the Dolphins where Welker caught 11 balls for 160 yards and 2 TDs, of note was his NFL record tying 99 yard reception. The next game that Welker wore this jersey was in week 3 on the road against the Bills. In this contest Welker finished with 2 Patriots records 16 receptions for 216 yards, he also scored 2 TDs and had 1 carry for 19 yards. Welker continued his hot streak in Oakland the next week with 9 receptions for 158 yards and a TD. The jersey was worn for the last time at home in Week 6 against the Cowboys. Welker finished this contest with 6 catches for 45 yards and a TD.

The jersey has been photomatched to the first three contests and comes with PSA/DNA authentication for the use in the Cowboys game. The jersey was originally sourced through the Hunt/NFL super bowl auction and remains unwashed. The jersey has two repairs, one large one on the left shoulder from the Buffalo game.

This is a pretty special one for me. The game was a big win over the Super Bowl Champs and looks to have turned around the Bengals’ season. The jersey was worn for the 8th of AJ’s (single season Bengals record) 9 straight games with a receiving TD. And for my family, the game’s date was even more important than either.

AJ Green is as rare of an athlete as it was to beat coverage as badly he did to open the game’s scoring. At a “Bengals Nation” taping tonight, he smiled genuinely with pride for making fans happy as he signed autographs. AJ couldn’t have possibly been more gracious in providing the precise inscription requested and shaking hands after.

Here's my Ernie Warlick Bills jersey. Ernie played for the Bills from 1962-65 and he was on the AFL All-Star team for all of those years. He was also pivotal in the Bills three (3) straight Eastern Divisional titles as well as the Bills Championships in 1964 and 1965.

The jersey is 100% ORIGINAL and I may have even photo-matched it. Check out the "L" both on the nameplate and the photo. To me, the "L" looks raised when compared to the "R" - perhaps?

I won the Bowman 49er Nike and I really like it. Totally different type of material than the Reebok shirts.

My only complaint is that neck looks a little funny. I guess that type of neck keeps the jersey closer to the pads, making it harder to grab and tackle. Not all teams (Packers, Patriots) have that neck style which makes me wonder how certain teams were able to avoid the alteration in style.

Always buying 49er gamers and ALL 1994 49er game worn items. Paying a finders fee up to 500$ for information that leads to a sale.

Regarding the Packers jersey, I knew they were keeping the old style (not sure if that meant just replacing the Reebok logo with a swoosh?)...this is the only thing Nike posted on their Packers jerseys...

To follow a Marshawn Lynch gamer after the blowout loss the 49ers had Sunday is a bit brutal but one has to look forward not back at this point in the season.

The NFL these days is all about parity and any week it seems any team can win. One thing that has to change though is the penalties. I do not understand how some of these defensive unnecessary roughness calls can be made when the hits are textbook hits. It is really getting to the point where the game itself is losing some of its appeal.

I am all for player safety but when a DB who hits a receiver with his shoulder and knocks him down as he is catching the ball gets flagged, it makes no sense. What are defenses to do-just let the catch be made and then tackle?

When the excitement of the game is being phased out by a never ending litany of penalties it is hard to watch. We are seeing textbook tackles being called 15 yard penalties on one hand yet the very next play there is clear holding and no call. At least be consistent.

A few new pickups for the holidays!

Dashon Goldson 2010-11 seasons worn uniform. Shows nice game use with multiple repairs on both the jersey and the pants. Finding gamers from the last few seasons with extensive use or repairs is uncommon.

It seems that 99% of what is sold via NFL Auctions was worn in one game. The jerseys tend to show nice use but there is a noticeable difference between one game use and season long or multi-game use. This Goldson shirt is a perfect example of a season long used jersey with fraying to the numbers, multiple repairs, good wash wear and hit marks of varying age. This is the exact type of jersey I love adding to the collection!

The pants are cool in that the long "socks" are sewn right into the pants. Towel is also interesting in that it has velcro on the inside to help it stick to the pants.

Tai Streets 2000 home and away game worn jerseys-both with really nice use plus 2 footballs caught by Streets for TDs. The footballs are marked with cloth tape noting the game in which each TD was caught.

The Streets items came out of his unpaid storage locker along with at least 5 of his helmets, additional game worn jerseys, 2 painted presentation footballs and a number of other football related items.

It boggles my mind as to how people can just let their personal belongings disappear due to unpaid storage rental space. I am in no position to judge anyone as to what is or is not valuable to oneself but it is was my stuff from my time in the NFL no way does it get auctioned off. I have no idea as to what Tai Streets's financial situation is but unless he is homeless, the helmets, footballs and jerseys could fit into the trunk of a car! With what just 2 of the helmets sold for (they all sold for very very reasonable prices thus their short lived presence on eBay) the storage bill could have been paid! In any case at least these items have found a quality home and I hope Tai Streets is doing well.

I picked us this Tai Street's Niners helmet from the same collection as Paul did above. It was worn in only one throwback game, on Nov 25th, 2002 vs the Eagles. Street's had 8 rec for 65 yds. I doesn't fit my current collection, but a nice piece that I couldn't pass us. I was hoping to grab his Lions helmet, but he said that one was sold.

Santa brought me a game worn 11/08/2209 Bradie James Cowboys jersey this morning. It was worn versus the Philadelphia Eagles that day. Really displays nicely with my 2009 silver base Cowboys Bradie James helmet. It is hammered with nice impact marks and one repair on the left front shoulder. Both sleeves customed hemmed and several nice helmet hit markings. One interesting thing I never noticed before on a jersey, there is a hole below the NFL shield on the front and from pictures of James on Getty Images it seems he tightens up the front with a string from the hole to the 'V' part of the front. Interesting...

Got this in earlier week. It's my first NFL jersey, my first Bengals jersey and one of my grails so I was extremely happy to add it to my collection. Also wanted to give a thank you to everyone I spoke to with the Bengals, they were awesome in tracking this down for me. They really went the extra mile. 2012 Vontaze Burfict Game Worn Home Jersey worn 12-30-2012 against the Baltimore Ravens.

I found a clear photomatch on Getty images for the Ravens game and I'm working on other games because, as I tried to show in the photos, this jersey is TRASHED. There are numerous team repairs, hit marks and even a few small holes around the right shoulder area.

Golden Tate 2012 game used jersey. This was worn in the Bears game and appears to have single game use. In this game Tate had 5 catches for 96 yards and scored a TD to put the Seahawks up with 24 seconds. The Bears made a miraculous drive downfield to send it to OT before Sidney Rice scored the GW TD. The jersey has been washed and comes direct from the Seahawks. This is the first 2012 game used Nike jersey that I have owned. What I found interesting is the amount of piling on the inside of the jersey throughout when the outside didn't show as much. Some paint transfers are still present and a little bit of turf/mud didn't get washed out. This is my 3rd Golden Tate jersey.

Dave Meggett 1992-94 era New York Giants away jersey. This away jersey has the outline of a 1994 75th anniversary patch that used to be present on the jersey (on the third photo you can see this). In 1994 the Giants wore the away white jersey in the preseason and during the regular season used the throwbacks for the whites for part of the season. I've posted a picture of Meggett wearing a similar white jersey in the preseason (incorrectly dated in Getty to the bengals game, my guess from the 'road' preseason game against the Jets). This jersey does not match mine exactly as the APEX logos are different. I've also included a picture of Meggett in the 1993-94 Playoffs against the 49ers where the APEX logos are the same style. I've seen both the white/blue and the blue/white APEX logos used by the Giants in 1994. The last picture on the is the back of a 1995 football card showing him against the Cardinals with a similar jersey. No patch is present on this picture but I do not know that this is from 1994 or a previous year.

The jersey shows use on the shoulders as if from hits/turf and some scraping on the front 3 (possibly from ball placement) and on the shoulder numbers. The tail tag is not present on this jersey. There is one small paint transfer noticable on the right shoulder. It is possible that this jersey was used in 1992 or 1993 and a patch was applied to it for the 1994 season and subsequently removed. I have not photomatched the jersey and there is no year tag present. The remnant "NG,"of what appears to be a "Long" tag is present on the inside of the custom waist hem along with another tag that was cut. 1994 was Meggett's final season for the Giants.

I'd love a great Steeler helmet like that! Back to jerseys...it's been an expensive month but I couldn't resist the chance to pick these up. Many of you likely saw these on an earlier post and they turned up better than advertised. The Falcon logo on the '66-67 jersey is THREE layer tackle twill. Black on white on red. The design is at least a decade ahead of its time. The 1970 black one is pristine, having been worn by a special-teams player whose career stats are one carry for 8 yards. That explains the single solitary team repair on it. I might unload one of the two eventually just to fund some other items (the seller sold these two as a set), but they are a treat to have for sure!

Falcons jerseys look very nice. Would love to hear more about them.

Anyway, besides lots of programs, tickets, autographs, game DVDs, etc. this is the game used stuff I have

Dezmon Briscoe 2011 Tampa Bay International series shirt (TD jersey)
Chris Harris 2011 Chicago International series shirt.
Tom Banks 1972 St. Louis Cardinals helmet
Tom Gibson 1987 New England helmet
Dwaine Board 1980 San Francisco helmet.

Besides NFL auctions, Mears, Grey Flannel, Mile High, Paragon auction sites -where else could I find game used stuff, mainly helmets though?

Nice stuff, shows great use! As for NFL helmets, the Eagles and Skins sell their helmets thru Mei Gray. There are also Jets helmets on there.

The Cowboys use Steiner to sell their helmets, both normal and throwback.

The Seahawks sell their helmets directly, but not sure if they ship internationally. You could call their Pro Shop and ask. The Patriots also sell direct but I have never been on their site. I know the Colts have had ONE game worn helmet for sale on their site forever.

JO Sports have some nice helmets; mostly Rams, Chiefs and Raiders these days. But they do have other teams.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Dashon Goldson 2011 uniform (jersey, pants and game used towel). Jersey has multiple repairs including a shoulder number repair and the pants have the socks sewn directly onto them.

Paul, absolutely beautiful 2012 SF gamers. I am in awe of your collection. I wonder how they are displayed in your home? Are these on mannequins or hung up or how do you enjoy them? I built shelves in a 2nd floor bedroom that has a nice side area for my helmets and have one mannequin (all my bride will allow though I am lobbying hard for a 2nd one) and have my NFL game worn jerseys now on hangers and have three or four up. I rotate the jerseys and the wife is ok with this.

Picked up my first Nike NFL jersey from the 2012 season.

Leonard Hankerson's game worn throwback redskins jersey vs. Carolina on 11/4/2012 (3 catches, 49 yards). Shows mostly paint transfers on the numbers, slight grass markings, and white stretch marks of the fabric. Absolute beautiful jersey and doesn't even compare in terms of fabric and look to the reebok jerseys.

This is my 1992 game worn Barry Sanders home. I bought this in the summer of 1993 from a Detroit Lions/Oakland co. special olympics auction at Northville, MI. Upon taking it home, and knowing nothing of proving authenticity, I went down town and bought a couple Pro Football Mags that had Barry pics that looked suspiciously like my jersey. To my shock, I was able to make a 100% photo match which is demonstrated here. The pic was Barry on the Road vs TB 1992. I then compared it with 20 pics I took vs Minn '92 and it matched them also. The jersey has a strange corkscrewed "20" on the reverse which I will not photograph. (I'll keep an ace in the whole). It shows up game after game on DVD.
After owning or purchasing every DVD of Lions wearing blue jerseys, 1992, it became obvious that Barry Sanders DID NOT CHANGE HIS JERSEY that year. I simply cannot find any image that does not match the holes and rips in my jersey, several of which occured in the 1st home game of the year vs Minn(which I attended with over 20 of my own personal photos of Barry.) Equip managers later told me a max 2 jerseys were prepared for him that year. I'm positive he only wore one.
This jersey is a 1992 Wilson. It has no patch. 1992 was the only year between 1991 and 1994(the Wilson years) the Lions wore no patch of any kinds. 1991 had the JRT patch. 1993 had the 60 year patch. 1994 the 75 year patch. In the middle of 1994 the Lions switched to Apex.
Yet I have seen my very unique jersey sold at auction in excess of 20 times. Sometimes the same one rerouted. I have seen these appear in most major venues authenticated by many of the major authenticators. Its disgusting. The fakes aren't even close in most cases. Easy to spot if you know what you are looking for. One honest member in here had one recently posted on ebay with multiple letters of authenticity from several of the big names and auction houses. Its heart breaking. More pics later but I also own Barry's only game worn 1991 home and that one has been sold multiple times also. I challenge any of these sellers/authenticators to show me the evidence of exactly which game their jersey was worn in. They can't. The real 1994 Barry road I recently sold to RGibson is one of only 3 real Barry's I have ever seen in any public auction. More later.

Some new and some not so new....

1994 Gary Plummer away throwback worn vs the Vikings. Won off eBay and was up against one persistent bidder!!! If anyone on the forum was the other bidder please let me know as I wonder if we can do some trading etc.

The jersey shows nice game use with the same purple field paint that my other 1994 throwbacks that were worn vs Minnesota have. Also has a custom hole in each of the sleeve cuffs, which I assume are there to tighten the jersey to the pads.

1994 Jerry Rice game worn and autographed cleats and wristbands. The wristbands were worn vs the Raiders in the game Rice broke the all-time TD record and have a LOA from teammate Ralph Tamm.

1993 season Divisional round of playoffs worn Steve Young jersey with team letter. "Bronco Hinek tape" on nameplate noting that jersey was worn vs the NYG in a 44-3 blowout win. Notice the separate size and date code flag tags.

I attended this game and sat 10 rows behind the 49er bench and after the rout was on we moved to the front row. Security would hand us the cups that the players were drinking from after the players tossed them onto the ground. A few weeks later I had Dana Stubblefield sign his Gatorade cup at a card show. He thought I was nuts but I still have the cup!

Added a nice 1994 season Deion Sanders game worn item as well, which I will post at some point.

I do not remove the tape as the jersey left the locker room with the tape attached plus having the tape present is a good indicator of the jerseys authenticity.

I have a number of 49er game worn jerseys that have had the tape removed and yes it does leave a residual mark. Even though there is a residual mark, it can be a positive as the tape stain can help identify authentic gamers. I have seen 49er game worn jerseys sell at well below market value due to presumed authenticity issues or lack of a LOA, which were perfectly legit based on the presence of the stain left after the tape was removed.

A key issue to consider is that all the tape was written by the same hand resulting in almost a LOA in itself. Bronco's writing is very distinctive thus making it fairly straight forward to determine if indeed the tape was applied by the team. Team applied tape would thus seem to constitute a somewhat accurate reflection of the jerseys authenticity.

Keep in mind that the team is not infallible and mistakes have occurred. When I purchased my first 49er game worn items from "Man of Steal" after their SB XXIX win, Mike told me that at times shirts and LOAs would get mixed up. Sometimes tape would come off of jerseys and that tape would be reapplied to whichever jersey he thought it had fallen off of.

For me, seeing a 49er game worn jersey with the "Bronco Tape" is a good indication that it at least originated from the team and was worn in a game. I would still do my usual due diligence prior to buying it to ensure that the shirt was indeed worn in the game stated on the tape.
