Several weeks ago I wondered out loud about the ability to obtain player model bats from the manufacturers. Seems like X Bats is making it easy http://www.tuffbats.com/products.asp?cat=11

Last year, i called the owner of X-Bats to tell him how much i liked the look of the bats he was creating. I then asked if he could help identify the years that certain players were shipped their bats; i.e. I have a Vlad X-Bat, all natural, model number whatever. I also asked if there was any way a bat of his with a player's name could be ordered by anyone besides the player. He got quite rude and told me he didn't keep such records and that he really didn't have time for me.
Go figure!
