Albert Pujols jersey help

OK - there is a jersey on eBay that I have been looking at for several days. I don't neccesarily want to buy it - but I know the seller from previous autograph sales, and by all accounts, he is local in STL and seems to have an endless supply of legit autos of celebrities, ball players and everyone else.

I am guessing he is close to the team, and is probably a photographer.

Back to the Jersey - it is a Cool Base Pujols jersey that he supposedly used in the first few games of '07 - He originally had it listed as '06 until I informed him of the WS patch...and he immediately changed it.

He also has an Ozzie Smith jersey listed. Why do both seem short? I know little about jerseys, so any info would be appreciated. I am thinking about adding a few to my collection and I have been "practicing" at scoping out positives and negatives...but am having a hard time with this one...

I want to make it very clear that this seller has been very trustworthy in the past and I have no reason to believe he is selling something other than what he says.

I wouldn't touch this thing without stronger provenance. Seller states that this 'cool base' jersey shows light wear since it was only worn the first month of the season. Please correct me if I am wrong, but I thought cool base jerseys were meant to be worn when the weather gets warmer?

Very valid point Ironmanfan -

I went to the opening series vs. NY and I had to buy a coat. It was 30 degrees! Cool base makes no sense really.
