    Game jerseys vs retail jerseys

I'd like to get a better picture of the retail jersey situation in the early 90's. Specifically:

    1) I keep hearing that large sizes such as 48, 50, 52 were "not available to the public". True? Rumor? Urban legend? Anyone know for sure?

    2) Wilson jerseys were not available to the public. True? False?

    3) Russell and Rawlings 'authentic'(retail) jerseys were available to the public. Were most Russell retail jerseys made out of nylon? What about Rawlings retail jerseys..polyester or nylon or ?

    4) Russell retail jerseys had a tag in the neck. Game jerseys had the 100% poly tag. Any other differences between the two?

    5) Rawlings game jerseys had the "Year/Set" flag tag. Did they differ in any other way from Rawlings retail jerseys?

I'm sure all of these questions could be answered if anyone has an old sports mail order catalogue? Like the old Manny's Baseball Land catalogues?

    Rudy.
