what is the average life span of a bat?

Hello-
I was just wondering what is the average life span of a game bat in the majors? I know that some guys can break a bat on the first swing and decades earlier they would last for a while, but I wonder how it is now. Is it unusual for a guy to use a bat for, say, a few weeks? I guess the maple ones would last longer. I wonder about ash? Thanks for the read guys! - Joe

There are a few collector's on this forum who have photomatched bats a week before the date on their MLB hologram,,and that's normally the farthest I've seen it gone, so I'd say a week at most.
