He ended his playing career with the Braves in 1950.

From wikipedia - "Following his retirement as a player, Walters coached for the Braves and Giants (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Francisco_Giants) through 1957. He was inducted into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cincinnati_Reds_Hall_of_Fame) in 1958 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1958)."

Hope that helps

Jim

Vintage, I must be Blind, how come i can't find anything on him in the 55 Braves roster. Charlie grimm was the manager, but can't find anything on coaches!

could be that he was a roving minor league coach, or spring training coach.

don't you think the description should note that?

Only if the seller is aware of that. He may not know.

Not that it matters, but isn't "sandaddy" Mastro Auctions eBay name?

Hello,
I was wondering if justbaseball collects Milwaukee Braves game used items. I collect Milwaukee Braves game used bats. I was wondering if you might have any bats for sale or trade. I have a couple of Braves bats for sale or trade. Hope to hear back from you soo.
Thanks,

sandandy is Dan Knoll who used to do jersey authentication for Mastro and other auction houses. Dan's an upstanding guy so you have nothing to worry about.

By the way, the reference sandandy refers to is a book called Baseball by the Numbers. It's an out of print reference book that has all the players and coaches uniform numbers up to 1992. It's an invaluable book if you collect jerseys. It's tough to find these days unless you want to spend a lot of money on it.

A collector friend of mine recently alerted me to this website, and I thought I would clarify some information regarding my reference book on ML baseball uniform numbers.
Entitled "Baseball By The Numbers", it was first published in 1996, and contrary to the previous post, is STILL in Print(although you won't find it one the shelves of most major bookstores). You can order it by calling the publisher (Scarecrow Press)direct at 1-800-462-6420. You can also order it direct from me by e-mailing me at: mmstang@tampabay.rr.com. The list price was originally $85.00, and is now $88.00(plus shipping).
The book is hardcover, 1152 pages, has uniform number listings for over 50,000 players, coaches and managers, and covers all ML teams from the 1929 Yankees thru the 1992 season.
Just thought you all should know. Thanks.
