    Louisville Slugger Bat Question

I ran into a bat today that had all the Pro-model markings, but where a name should be on the barrel it read PITCHERS all in capital letters. Any thoughts? I'd never seen this before. It had the markings of a 1973-1975 bat, and the number 11 was written in marker on the knob.
    Thanks,
    Jimmy

    Re: Louisville Slugger Bat Question

Back in the old days most pitchers did not order their own bats so HB issued bats stamped PITCHERS on them so they can have bats to use. Similiarily HB used to issue team bats with the team names on them for use by pitchers too.

Here's a nice example of a team bat from the 70's which just ended on ebay tonight.
