I thought this was iteresting. I got a call from the Rays front office and I have been selected to the Tampa Bay Rays Fan HOF. I wrote a letter a while ago about my fan-hood and took a photo of my game used Rays items totaling over $3,000 and got selected. What is awesome is that I get a game ISSUED game jersey. THey asked my size and I said 46 + 2'' extra length and -1 sleeve length. They were silent on the phone for a bit and said, that it would be no problem ordering it.

Pretty exciting for me but, nice to know my Gameu used stuff helped launch me to the Ryas fna HOF, should be on the rays website in about a week

Greats news! Congrats!

Game issued? Why not a game used jersey or bat of your choice?

Camarokids, are you next?

That's cool, Maybe you can talk them into letting all of the HOF fans down
on the field before a game to watch batting practice sometime.

very nice honor jake33. congrats.

never knew that team have a fan hof. i bet there may be other members who would qualify for their respective teams. is their an area in the stadium where you are honored, perhaps a fan hof wall.

like to see the jersey with your name on it when you receive it.

Congats on your enshrinement! That is cool, the only team I know that does that. That jersey sounds sweet, make sure you post some pictures when you get it in.

I will for sure get some pics and put them up. The rays front office has been so great to work with over the last 5 years on getting game used items and authenticating them. THe ceremony will be 2/23/08, i hope to take some pics too and put them up, they are letting the fans tour the lockerroom too.

Congrats, jake, that's awesome. Take lots of pics of the ceremony!
Here's a couple of pics of my buddy last week at the Trop.. We set up a display for the "Home Show" there 4-5 times a year and pretty much have the run of the place. (Click to enlarge).

Shouldn't anyone who attends a Rays game get elected to their fan HOF??

Just kidding that sounds like a very cool thing. Not often you see teams going out of their way to honor fans like this.

Hope your HOF status includes all the perks that should come with such an honor like free beer & food, first dibs on all game used...

It was a blast, sure enough i got my jersey size 46 with 2 inches extra length, the team was great to work with and I got a bronzed glove trophy with my name on it and it is in the stadium in the ted williams museum. Quite a thrill!
