Hi Everyone,

Indeed I have. I actually owned this very glove. I purchased it in 1988 and sold it two years later (to pay an Amex bill!) I have a feeling that there are a few of us interested in this glove. I am actually contemplating posting several items in the CTC section to pool some funds!

Thanks for the post, though!

If you're interested in acquiring this one year style, I have a 1987 Mets road jersey with the New York attached script. Name on it is Sanchez, probably a bullpen catcher as I can't find a Sanchez on the roster at any point.

David,

Oddly enough, I already have a 1987 road #60 Sanchez. And I don't know who he was either. It was a bargain add to my collection.

What are the odds of two of these appearing?

Then again, I just passed on a Leach similar to mine.

Nick

I bought it from Ballpark Heroes. Funny that you've got another one. What set is yours?

Sorry but I don't have the jersey here in my home; I have it in storage. The next time I see it, I'll snap a couple of photos. It's very possibly a Set 1 as well... but I will let you know...

More than likely, it was Zoilo Sanchez. He was a 3B who hit .296, 14 HR, 85 RBI for Lynchburg in '86 so they may have been giving him a look for '87.....just a guess.

Thanks to long time collector/authenticator Dave Miedema, we have confirmation that #60 was in fact Zoilo Sanchez. Not only did he have stellar years in 1985 and 1986 for Mets minor league clubs, but he appeared in the 1987 media guide as a rostered spring training invitee, wearing #60. Mystery (definitely) solved.

Game Used Helmets from the mid 80's of Mookie Wilson and Keith Hernandez. A Jacket of Alan Zinter, with the name on the back. This is from the late 80's.

Please email Tjwinnie@aol.com for details.

Update for you (no, not the information on my jersey which is still in storage)... I have located a THIRD Zoilo Sanchez 1987 Mets road jersey on Jim Yackel's website. It's also a set 1. What are the odds???
