What is your opinion on getting game-used jerseys signed? Does it detract from the piece one is trying to display?

Re: Getting Game Used Jerseys Signed
I've seen way too many bad signatures on game worn jerseys which ruin the apperance, thus I don't think I'd ever get one signed. Depending on the marker or where it's signed, the quality can vary greatly.. It's better to just display a signed photo beside the jersey, preferablly a photo matched image.. Just my thoughts...

I have done several searches, and I cannot find such topics in the archives. You probably have a better idea of their titles than do I. Could you link to them here, along with any threads discussing what pens to use.
Thanks,

Hello Frik I have found a few of the threads start reading Ill try to post them all lol lol
In my personal opinion Use the Very Fine Blue Sharpie Marker it lasts the longest and doesnt bleed as much as a regular sharpie, I think it lasts longer then a black sharpie all the Jerseys signed in blue are fine all my Jerseys signed in black have faded to a dark brownish color.

Re: Getting Game Used Jerseys Signed
Here's the thing. The only color I would like is silver. But I have heard that it fades real, real quickly. Is there any chance it would fade in a UV case? Even if it's only a 1% chance, I'd err on the side of caution. PLMK.
Thanks.
