Wade Boggs Store Model being sold as BP bat on ebay...

I emailed both the bidder and seller (feedback is 2) to make them aware the bat is a store model .

The bat has the "Flame Tempered" and doe NOT have "Genuine" or a model number above Boggs' name. It does have a nice looking "26" on the knob though.....:eek:

I cannot view the entire center brand , due to the photo provided.....

Here is the sellers description :

"You are bidding on a bat used by Wade Boggs in 1988. I got it from him during batting practice at a Cleveland Indians game when i was a little kid. I seen him take batting practice with it, but I dont know if it was used in a game though. Shipping is $15.00. Paypal only. Payment must be recieved within 7 days from auctions end. There are also some batting cage ball marks on the barrell - the kind that look like this:

Last I checked, Major leaguers usually use real balls on the field - and the golf-ball looking ones in the cages inside the clubhouse...

I had seen that bat and noticed it said "flame tempered", but with the story he was telling in the auction, I didn't bother saying anything, as he is claiming he watched Boggs use it in BP and then Boggs handed it to him. No way the seller's going to recant on that story.

Haha, I saw that bat as well and saw the flame tempered and quickly hit the back button. Just figured he hit it with a few balls, put 26 in marker on the knob, and called it good.
