Hi Bill--

First off, model W248 is not documented anywhere in Winfield's H & B records as ever having been ordered by, or shipped to, him.

By saying "no team name" I assume you mean that there is nothing under Winfield's signature on the barrel. Correct me if I am wrong. If that is what you mean, the bat dates to 1990. In 1990, all of Winfield's H & B orders were for model Model W273, 25.5 inches in length. All had a Gwynn Finish (two-tone with a natural handle. In addition to Winfield's shipments to the Yankees and the Angels, many similar bats were sent to Anaconda-Kaye (promotional.)

The Yankees 1990 team orders also do not show any W248 orders.

Let me know if you have other questions.

Mike, I have sent you an email.

I am curious as to what does this mean? Is there no way this bat was used by him?? Are these records fool proof? Can there be mistakes??

Any info would be greatly apprecaited?

Mike,

Any idea what year Winfield used a 194 A 71-77 Adirondack?
Let me know if you need more info.
Thanks

Dave's favorite model was the W273 35.5in/34oz.

He also used the M159, K75, S2, W285 and W285X. All these were usually ordered only once or twice. He mainly used the W273 throughout his career with LS.
