Jake,
Have you tried a Getty search to see if he used Mizuno bats? Probably a good place to start. Don't forget to look at cards he was on as well to see if you can match it. You should be able to find something one way or the other. Even if you can't it doesn't mean he didn't use Mizuno during bp. I for one don't have a clue. Hope you find out and let us know.

I don't remember the model number but he did swing a Mizuno that was in the same shape and specs as our G174. From the pictures that looks to be the model. Flare knob, small handle and large barrel. I have one or two of his Mizuno's around the shop somewhere.

Rafael Palmeiro has used almost every brand of bat made at one time or another. I once saw him break a bat the last time he was with Baltimore and the bat boy came out with 3 different brands of bats for him to chose from. A lot of his had a taped handle, but not all of them.

Here's photos of Palmeiro with a black mizuno bat similar to the one in the action. Note the taped handle on the one in the photo as cjclong indicates Palmeiro like to tape handles on some his bats.

I owned a 2004 Old Hickory with a taped handle which he use to hit his 477 career homerun.

Thanks for the help. I ended up trading for it, and I'm happy. I saw both of those pictures, but the one on the left is Tejada's bat. The one on the left is a good match though, thanks!
