Writing on Ankiel Bat Knob

I have a game used Rick Ankiel LS bat and it has his number at the time, 49, written on both ends of the bat. It also has 4-1 or 4.1 written on the knob. Does anyone know what this means. I am sure I have seen it written on another players game used bat before. It is a model C271S. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like typical length-weight markings. In this case the bat was most likely 34"-31 oz.
