This jersey comes courtesy of Mr. George from here on Game Used Forum. I looked at pictures of this jersey in the past and have every reason to believe it is what it is reported to be. The jersey appears to have nice fraying around the numbers and seems consistent with similar exemplars from that time period. It would appear that since it is a 1988 before these items became readily available at the local sporting good store that it is either genuine or a salesmans sample in which case someone ran it through the washing machine a bunch of times prior to having it authenticated. I have every reason to believe that it is a genuine Ripken game jersey and as George points out one of the very few rare examples of the real deal.
