hey guys. i was just wondering, if you had a bat expertly repaired by say fred lowman or john taube's guy, what is the expected life of the repair? does the repair work tend to loosen over time at all? i have no idea about this stuff and was just curious about the stability of bat afterwards. thanks a lot! -joe

Joe to give you another angle of looking at this.

Are you sure you want to repair the bat?

My question for this is depending on the collectors such as myself I would prefer the bat cracked because to have it repaired takes away from the actual use, the player put on the bat.

In my own opinion I think repairing a bat devalues it but somoe collectors prefer the bat repaired.

Joe, wood glue is stronger than the wood itself. I've never tested it, but it's generally accepted that if you took a repaired bat to the cages and used it, and it broke again, the break would be somewhere other than the original crack. Almost fair to say a repaired bat is more stable than an unbroken one, assuming the repair is done properly.
