    Re: stargell bat

Of the Stargell bats I have seen on different sites I have never seen one with the weight and size written on the bottom. All have had 8 or VIII written on the knobs.

Correct me if I'm wrong but this writing of the weight and length on bats seems to be a more recent trend. Anyone know when this became more prevalent with game used bats?

A review of Stargell's H & B records show his last personal order of 34.5 inch K44 bats was shipped in 1978. Note that K44 is Stargell's Pro Stock model.

I believe Stargell retired in 1982. I also believe that LS did not begin putting the team name on the barrel until 1991 which is long after Stargell's retirement.
