A review of Lou's H & B personal records from 6/25/62 through 6/26/80 shows that his first order of model P89 bats was shipped on 7/11/72 (35 inches / 32 oz / Flame burned finish --12 bats.) In 1973 he placed several orders for P89 bats, 34.5 inches / 32 oz / unfinished (16 bats) and Flame Burned (4 bats) and Natural finish (10 bats.) Four orders of P89 were made in 1974 that were 34.5 inch / 32 oz, and at least one of those orders was for a cupped end. In late April 1974 he specified specifically 'no cupped ends' on any of his orders. Finally, in 1976, he placed one order for P89 bats (34.5 / 32) on 1/28/76. It is not known whether that order would have had the Bicentennial logo on the center brand or not. That was his last documented order of that model.
