I came across this yesterday in a link at American Memorabilia when checking when their next auction is set to begin. It featured at the top of the page a link to the Ultimate Warriors new TV pay per view site. Apparently our old friend from the forum Mr. Bernie Gernay is his new agent??? I did not know Bernie was moonlighting as an agent for professional wrestlers but I found this to be kind of interesting. I pulled this off of Wikipedia online about the Warrior. This is posted several places on the Warriors own site. I guess Bernie became a member of OWN or One Warrior Nation.

During an April 19 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/April_19), 2008 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008) Nu-Wrestling Evolution (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nu-Wrestling_Evolution) event in Madrid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madrid), Spain (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spain), Warrior was presented with an award celebrating his professional wrestling career in front of over 15,000 attendees. During the presentation, NWE Champion Orlando Jordan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orlando_Jordan) mocked a fan of Warrior's, resulting in a heated argument between Warrior and Jordan. As a result of the exchange, a match between Warrior and Jordan was scheduled for June 25 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/June_25), 2008 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008) in the Palau Municipal d'Esports de Badalona (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palau_Municipal_d%27Esports_de_Badalona) in Barcelona (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barcelona), marking Warrior's first professional wrestling match since October 1998. Warrior's agent, Bernie Gernay, released a statement saying:

"For over 10 years this is what the entire wrestling world has been waiting for, the return of the Warrior. We are excited to bring back the greatest character and energy to ever get into the ring. Ultimate Warrior is an incredible marketing machine and has kept a tremendous value to his name which is why the NWE has stepped up with a substantial deal that worked very well for both sides. There is no disputing that Warrior left a mark on professional wrestling that no other talent did and the reason why still today he is often imitated, but never duplicated. Over the next few days the NWE will inform fans of the preparations for one of the biggest and most important wrestling events ever to be held in Europe. As the news progresses it is sure to be the headlines of wrestling news and forums throughout the Internet and will most certainly have all in the wrestling industry and fans alike in great anticipation to see what the Warrior will deliver on June 25th, and perhaps beyond."

Thanks

Ok ok, I'll admit. When I was a kid, I was a Warrior.

Did you know... In 1993 Jim Hellwig legally changed his name to "Warrior"?

Did you know... That Jim Hellwig's children carry the last name "Warrior"?

Did you know... That Warrior's web site www.ultimatewarrior.com (http://www.ultimatewarrior.com) is registered to...Mister Warrior?

I think Rufus R. "Railroad" Jones could take him.

I think Rufus R. "Railroad" Jones could take him.

I did a web search, and I couldn't find anything on the great Rufus R. "Railroad" Jones.

I was just thinking, doesn't Bernie also repsesent Jose Canseco? I think I read about it on Gavel Chat a few weeks ago. He was talking about having Jose box against Mike Tyson. Just what the world needs, for the greatest modern heavyweight champion to make a fool of himself once again.

No, I'm talking about Mike Tyson, not Jose Canseco.

Talking about Gavel Chat, I'm stealing this image because it is too classic:

Hey Joel, good to see you back on the forum. I personally have missed your commentary over the past year or so.

I will be busting out the Warrior face paint and OWN tee shirts for tonight's return match. After ten years, it is good to see the Warrior back in business kicking some butt.

Thanks

Just to give an update, the Warrior offered up a first class butt kicking last night to become some kind of World Heavyweight Champion of a wrestling promotion nobody has ever heard of. He might be 49 years old now wrestling for the first time in ten years with what is reportedly a blown out knee but he still kicked some butt.

Did Warrior get that way hitting the gym or hitting the pharmacy?

Orlando Jordan was released by the WWE as he couldn't compete there, so I guess this is where he can go to be a star. Now Warrior wrestled against Hulk Hogan during the nWo phase, and I remember one of the 3-4 matches he wrestled against Hulk Hogan, headlining a pay-per-view was one of the worst matches ever.

Then again, his match with Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania was one of the greatest, pre-modern style professional matches, that I ever watched.
