    Jose Canseco bat

Is it possible to pinpoint a order date on a Jose Canseco Louisville Slugger O64 that was used during his stint with the Rangers from 1992 to 1994?

    Thanks,
    Bryan

    Hi Bryan --

In reviewing Jose Canseco's H & B records from July, 1982 through Feb, 1996 there were two orders of Model O64 during his time with the Rangers. The first was an order of 24 bats shipped on 3/25/93. These were 34 1/2 inches in length and weighed 34 ounces. The bats had no finish applied. The second order was dated 4/12/93 and also was for 24 bats. They also were 34 1/2 inches / 34 ounces, but had a Flame Treated finish.

Model O64 was not a bat frequently used by Canseco. It was first ordered in 1988 while an A's "Bash Brother," Early orders had a Large handle, thus designated O64L. Several Model O64L bats were sent to Baseball Promotions and Jobber Promotions in 1989-1991 for promotional events. Those bats, however, measured 35 inches in length.

    Good luck in future collecting.

    Mike
