How rare are knobless bats these days?

I bought a SAM Bat off ebay that has the old-fashioned style 'knobless' bat that tapers from the handle to the end of the knob, rather than having the doughnut shape.

Obviously these kinds of knobs were common among older players, but does anyone know how many current players use it? This particular bat was a 2001 Rich Hackett RC1. I've seen two Paul Molitor P130's recently that both feature the same knobless style, including one that's up on ebay right now.

But that's about it in terms of 'recent' bats. If he reads this, perhaps BMH could give anecdotal stats for how frequently players these days request bats that don't have a truly defined knob.

Compare the two knobs from SAM bats here:

do you have a pic of it? I believe that was one of his personal model bats. Who did you sell it to? And do you think they would sell?

I sold it over a year ago so a very serious brewers collector. He paid me alot of money for it and i'm sure if i could even remember his name or his e-mail he would not want to sell the bat. It was the only knobless fielder bat i have ever seen and it was uncracked and black.

Here's a pic of one of Howard's knobs. It's almost in a class of its own, more like a mushroom than anything else:

The last time i heard of a knobless handle was Julio Franco in 2006. He used knobless Rawlings adirondack bats.

I have a Scott Hatteberg A's bat that is very similar to the Sam bat in the OP.
