Hi

I picked up this Hairston gamer with Bert Blyleven signature. I know Hairston played for the Pirates in 1977 and Blyleven in 1978. The knob has a 22 and it is an M110 bat. Anyone have any ideas? Could this be a Blyleven gamer?

I did see this bat on eBay and almost purchased it myself. I did some research and noted that Hairston wore #22 with the Bucs in '77 and with Blyleven joining the team in '78, I surmised that this may be a Hairston '78 Spring Training bat that someone acquired & had Blyleven sign it (Hairston did not play in the majors in '78).

I was thinking of bidding on this bat as well, but decided not to.

Hairston played in 77 then he played the next 3 years in the Mexican League. Its either a Hairston bat that Bert happened to sign, or a Hairston bat for 77 that was left over and Bert used it, for he was #22 as well.
