I don't collect many bats so my knowledge of them is somewhat limited, however I do have a black Mizuno gamer. Could someone tell me what an engraved "A" on the bottom of the knob indicates? Thanks for your time.

If memory serves me right the A is for Ash.

Can anyone tell me what the 00 stamping or H and M stamping on Hideki Matsui bat are for?

Maybe? I don't know. Maybe the 00 is for the year 2000? Speculation on my part.

Matsui didn't play for the yankees in 2000. I believe his first season there was 2005?

Perhaps 00 is the number of world series rings he won while with the yankees.

Matsui's first year with the Yankees was 2003 actually.
