I'm just looking to see if there is any interest in Yankee stadium turf I have. I don't have a price in mind yet or whether I should sell it separately or in one big lot. I know there is a limit for what a member can ask for any given item, but this is the rare situation that I may be able to "cut it up". This is turf from Yankee Stadium. It is from the 2004 season and in particular used during the 2004 ALCS. How do I know? Because days after the series was over,I was driving on River Avenue and I saw a constuction crew remove the entire outfield turf and throw 2 feet square hunks of turf into 30 yard dumpsters. I stopped and realized they were literally throwing the Yankee Stadium field into the garbage. I could care less as a Met fan but as a baseball fan and collector I couldn't believe it. There are security cameras around the Stadium so I went to the Press gate and asked security if I could take some. He laughed and said take the whole thing. I came back with my friend and filled up my car with as much as I could take. He took 2 Polaroids of me taking them. Anyway much of my front yard is the Yankee Stadium outfield still. Some I didn't place into the yard and I kept them in boxes. One piece in particular has the foul line on it. Let me know on this thread if there is any interest. I should have carted the dumspter into Boston and sold chunks to every tavern and retired.

I take a wild guess and say you're a Yankee fan. So I'll have you know that I'm the only person in the world who can say that his dog craps on the Yankee outfield. You can have that portion if you want. It been mowed about 50 times since '04.
I'll dig it out for you.
what, you think I never dug a hole before?

PRICES FOR YANKEE STADIUM 2004 ALCS TURF
3inch x 4inch x 1 1/2inch playing field turf : $23 total
3inch x 4inch x 1 1/2inch painted foul line field turf : $33 total
Can cut bigger / Can cut smaller (smallest 2" x2" for $13)
These pieces came from the top of the dumpster outside right field bullpen. The right field turf was the last to be removed so the painted right field turf foul line in the photo above('04 ALCS) is most likely where it was from.

(left) 2x2 regular YS turf (right) 3x6 foul line turf.
Turf is old but very thick and not loose. In fact the top layer is turf, second layer is root system and an additional botom layer of field dirt that is compacted(below)

A neighbor had expressed interest in buying the Yankee Stadium foul line turf piece. Any last calls for a piece from that section of turf or the regular turf without foul line? Let me know. All prices previously listed and negotiable.
Someone e-mailed me and wondered why would they want turf that was replanted in my yard? What I'm offering for sale WERE NOT those replanted in my yard. Notice photos of pieces offered for sale were kept in a box and not touched otherwise. Aside from the jokes the turf is real and again, unaltered.
