Nylon jersey signing - Sharpie or paint?

I've got a 2005 Team U.S.A. TBTC jersey (Max Scherzer) that I am going to try to get signed tonight, but here's my problem.

The tag on the jersey says "100% Nylon". Now, when I think of nylon, I think "slick" - like a nylon jacket, something like that - but this jersey feels more like really heavy cotton...and I can just imagine (in my nightmares) a paint pen signature bleeding out in all directions, even as it's being written.

    Am I being unduly paranoid?

Actually, I meant to write, "I can imagine a Sharpie signature...", etc.

I had Max sign the jersey with a new blue Sharpie, and it came out just fine, with no bleeding. I wish he signed better - not much more than a line with an "X" and a line with a "Z" - but hey, it was free. I'll post a photo of the jersey, along with a few others I picked up this month, in 'October Pickups', as soon as I can find the battery charger for my camera, which is currently hiding from me.
