i saw this shirt:

http://www.americanmemorabilia.com/Auction_Item.asp?Auction_ID=46807

and it reminded me of this earlier thread:

http://www.gameuseduniverse.com/vb_forum/showthread.php?t=15968

anyway, i'd be interested in hearing people's opinions in how the front team wordmark matches up. something seems askew to me. the atypical stitching on the rawlings tag doesn't help.

anyway, like i said, i'd be curious to hear what people think. here's juan iglesias' '85 canseco shirt:

The "K" from the AMI jersey is way off from the photo of Canseco. The thickness of the lettering is different as well. Look at the spaces in the arches of the letter A's. None of the letters on the AMI jersey match the jersey in the photo.

i've been going back through some of AMI's "canseco rookie gamers" and i've noticed some consistent oddities. first, here's a couple of 1985/1986 oakland shirts that i like. first, juan iglesias' '85 canseco shirt. look how nicely the letters are cut:

perfect. take special note of the "A":

here's an '86 shirt (not a canseco) that i also like:

http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/4648/bat3qw5.jpg

now here's a green '86 that i like. still the letters are nicely cut:

http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/6981/bat4ip7.jpg

the "A"'s are consistent.

now here are 3 different canseco jerseys offered by AMI (all from '86):

all i'm saying is that whoever's cutting these keeps jamming up on the "A". it's supposed to taper upwards, not be a square.

here's dan's 1986 canseco shirt with properly cut letters:

to my eye, the differences among all of the jerseys are really
pronounced. compare those to the ones seen on the AMI shirts.

i made a nice, little montage that better illustrates the differences. the well-cut letters on the left and the "interesting" ones on the right. all 3 shirts on the right were offered by AMI.

you can also see the differences in the "L", notably the lower portion.

GFC recently put up a couple of A's common player gamers. Letters look good. There's already 1 bid on the AMI canseco.

currently has 3 bids and is at $484. i wonder if the high bidder is wondering why he's about to get a "1986 game-worn canseco rookie jersey" for less than $500 while the 1997 canseco game-helmet at AMI is at almost $3500.

same old garbage. over and over..and over:

http://www.americanmemorabilia.com/Auction_Item.asp?Auction_ID=46812

if the same "mistake" occurs over and over is it still negligence or does it veer into fraud?

same old garbage. over and over..and over....if the same "mistake" occurs over and over is it still negligence or does it veer into fraud?....

The funny thing is, there seems to always be a handful of 'MISTAKES' on their monthly auctions. EVERY TIME!

How would someone be able to pursue legal action against scams like this? I'd be interested in finding out how.

We all know these are going to find their way back into the marketplace somewhere down the road, possibly ruining the credibility of a respectable collertor/vendor upon possible resale.

We should make a team effort here, make a stand, and put an end to the constant fraudulent activity from AMI. Someone has knows a Vegas Laywer here! PERSONALLY, I AM FED UP!

what i find incredible is that AMI seems to be the sole recipient of these bad '86 cansecos. check out how many different ones they've offered:

green jersey, set 2, signed on the second "3":
http://www.americanmemorabilia.com/Auction_Item.asp?Auction_ID=46812

white jersey:
http://www.americanmemorabilia.com/Auction_Item.asp?Auction_ID=46807

green jersey, set 1, signed on the second "3":
http://www.americanmemorabilia.com/Auction_Item.asp?Auction_ID=30759

green jersey, set 2, signed on the first "3":
http://www.americanmemorabilia.com/Auction_Item.asp?Auction_ID=12122

3 different 1986 canseco green jerseys? all of them bad at that.
almost seems like someone's using AMI as a dumping ground because they know lou's only too happy to give them all a thumbs up. in 9 years, lelands doesn't auction off a single '86 canseco yet AMI gets 5 of them in only 2 years.

Isn't there a resident GUU member who has like 12 different Canseco gamers. I seem to remember seeing his web page and he had a lot of early Canseco gamers, I think he had at least two different 1986 Canseco's that were legit. Perhaps he could comment.

Rudy...

It's pretty obvious that AMI is in desperation mode...they'll sell anything now....I wonder if Kitta will be selling her belly dancing dresses in the next auction

6 to 9 months................that's all I'm giving them 'till the house of cards falls down. Bad product + bad economy means no more Vegas buffets the crim-de-crims.

My favorite part about this forum is the kind manner in which some of the highly regarded members point out the obvious blatant fraud being perpetrated in the industry.

We don't want to be involved in a devastating lawsuit of libel...so we just point out these "minor" little discrepancies in the product.

It's freaking BEAUTIFUL............
