Got this cabinet card/photo. Is this basketball or soccer? The ball doesn't have laces but has a number ten on it which I'm assuming is the year. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Could it be a medicine ball? a ten pounder?

I would say the "10" on the ball is the year. I have seen several old photo's with the year written on the ball.
