Rudy - another bad BRSZ jersey?

    Rudy,

Did you see this one. It's a 1963 Angels flannel jersey, with Albie Pearson's name stitched in the jersey. The jersey is number 29, however, Pearson was always #28. I contacted BRSZ to see if their is evidence of a number change, but there apparently isn't. Does the 29 even look right? It appears to have been sloppily applied. What's your take?

        hey rob

unfortunately i am of no help at all as that shirt is way out of my niche. i can't explain the odd number. i know that personally i wouldn't trust rick kohl to deduce a number change.
perhaps it's a spring training shirt and pearson wore a different, unrecorded number during spring training. in 1991, devon white joined the jays and wore #19 in spring training before switching over to #25 for the rest of his jays playing days. #19 was never officially recorded as being a number he wore but i've got several photos showing him in a #19 spring training shirt and #19 on his bat knob. why did he switch right before the regular season began? who knows. maybe the pearson shirt is bad, maybe pearson wore #29 in spring training 1963. i'm afraid i can't offer much more. i can't even tell if the font is correct or the manufacturer or the chain stitching. like i said, way out of my niche. when faced with a bizarre shirt, always blame it on spring training
