that's well and good and I wish him the best, but that still doesn't answer my question. Were there different styles to the name/year tagging on Yankee jerseys? most of what I've seen had the name followed below by the year. thanks.

I'm not quite sure I understand the question. This jersey does have the "name followed by the year" Martinez-97.

Here is a photo of my 1995 Velarde that reads "Velarde-95", it is very worn and not that easy to see.

I also have a 1996 Andy Fox world series jersey that reads "Fox-96".

Yes, it's my jersey and I would have been glad to help via e-mail.

Sorry, just re-read and saw that your question was about the year being below the name.

Hi Abe, thank you for your response - here is a photo from another auction to what I'm referring to with the name being above the year

this is the formatting I've seen on most Yankees game jerseys with name and year, and was curious to know if they used a different style with the name and year together on one line as shown in your jersey photos. thanks and good luck with your auction!

There seem to be several different variations. I also have a couple of jerseys with the full year under the name "Showalter 1995", and one 1993 jersey that has the full year and no name on the tags.
