hey everyone,

I'm working on something and need some help. I'm trying to figure out which home uniform the Mets wore for these 2007 games:

8/7
8/8
8/11
8/12
8/22
8/23
8/25
9/8
9/11

I've searched getty, corbis, flickr, icon, etc...I haven't been able to figure out which uniform they wore for the above home Mets games. Any help would be appreciated...

Jim

That's the most innovative patch they could come up with?

I can see the steep drop-off of Mets game used sales coming...

This patch has style and character:

My kid could do better than the Inaugural Season patch.

These are real patches which have meaning.

The 2009 patch is a corporate sell-out. They replaced the Citi with Inarugural Season while maintaining the image of the Citifield logo (subliminal advertising if you ask me).

Note how all the previous patches which celebrated Shea had an image of the stadium and the words Mets. Not even the team name made it to the 2009 patch.

There's a thread on www.baseball-fever.com (http://www.baseball-fever.com) which members have also voiced their dismay of the 2009 patch and some have come up with their own designs 100x better than the unimaginative "CitiBank" field logo.

Mets were contacted by some of the members of that forum and stated the 2009 patch will not change but they may feature a cap patch which will have an image of the field.

20 million a year carries alot of clout.

I expected the new patch to be worn at an angle, just like in all of the illustrations, so that the phrase "Inagaural Season" would appear perfectly level (horizontal).

The new patch is placed like this on the jerseys:

The Mets did not make the final decision on the patch Citibank did. They designed that patch and they wanted it on the jerseys. The Mets created this design that will be used for merchandise sold in Citi Field. They wanted to use it on the jerseys without the Citi Field on the top but Citibank wanted the stadium logo on the jersey's patch.

Hi Everyone,

Wow, that is so much nicer. I don't like the new patch. I agree with deputy, no character

Best,
Jessie

The Mets did not make the final decision on the [inaugural uni] patch. Citibank did. [Citibank] designed that [uni]patch and [Citi] wanted it on the jerseys. The Mets created this [other] design that will be used for merchandise sold in Citi Field. [The Mets] wanted to use it on the jerseys without the Citi Field on the top but Citibank wanted the stadium logo on the jersey's patch.

I suspected the same as soon as I saw the inaugural uni patch, as well. But what is your source for this information? Thanks in advance.

One blogger has provided pics of the other Mets inaugural patches that didn't make the cut.
