Don't know about the Mets jersey but that seller recently sold this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8790218908

A sad little fake. The name and the numbers are the wrong font.
Compare the "2" in the Ebay jersey to the real "2" below:

$610 gone. Doesn't seem like a great collection if they both came from the same one.

It gets even worse if you go look at all the past jerseys this seller has sold. Not suprisingly they are all stars. Pay special attention to the really bad nameplates. The Ripken and the Palmer are sp bad it is almost comical.

Also look how bad the chain embroidered names in the collars are. Pathetic.

Does anyone realize that number 41 was Tom Seavers number? I am a bit curious why the seller wouldnt mention that this is supposed to be Tom Seavers jersey?

That’s easy. The seller wants the bidders to feel like they’re getting something over on him. Playing dumb, that’s all.

the seaver jersey has the wrong tag in the right place. the stitching on the strip tag is a different colour thread than my common jersey, and a different way about it. lastly most of those 73s were stripped of the new york front to be sent down or be used in spring training or the next season when the roads had mets across the front.

The 4 in 41 is too close to the piping near the buttons in the item as opposed to this photo of Seaver in 1974.In the photo the 4 in 41 is further away.
Zanebats is raising some eyebrows with his earlier purchase also.

Isn't the tag a few years early ? Previous posts on Wilson tagging on the forum indicate 1978-1985 for this tag.

This seller has hit a snag with his find of jerseys with questionable tagging and numbers (which he is not selling as game used, for the record)

Check out the feedback on a Steve Garvey jersey

It appears this seller will continue to sell his items with the description:

"I don't know if it was game worn. It does not have a certificate of authenticity. It came from a large collection of sports memorabilia."

...as long as eBay allows it. Pretty sad, just like the Dan Fouts jersey that Eric brought up in a previous thread. As long as eBay lets sellers mention that it may be game used but they are not sure, the sellers will continue to pull this off with items that are mis-tagged and mis-labeled.

The seller: from_yesterday appears to have been doing this for a few months now. We have questioned quite a few of their items on this forum but they keep getting semi-reasonable prices for items that may be just game style as long as eBay allows their questionable descriptions.

How about autographed items? Can you post an item stating that you are unsure if the autograph is real? if not, then this seller shouldn't be allowed to post jerseys with a similar description.

This seller's items should be topic number 1 on this forum! What else on the market has been produced at the "factory"? Did anyone see the FB helmets he sold about a month ago (scroll his feedback). The helmets looked good and were common players. BTW, i don't agree with the buyer of the Garvey's negative feedback. It was advertised as a Garvey jersey, and that's what he got. Buyer's remorse because they may have wanted to flip it through an auction house (my opinion). Does anyone realize how many items go from eBay (often not sold as gamers) to the auction houses? Well, its a whole bunch.

I point you to the Chargers helmet which has #14 stickers on the back (Hall of Famer Dan Fouts) but inside is written #41
Seller did not hide this, description read
Chargers used helmet, Riddell size 7 3/8 Number 41 is written on the inside and number 14 sticker is on the outside. This comes from a sports memorabilia collection. Check out the other helmets on my auctions. There is no certificate of authenticity.
