This jersey looks nifty and I, but my somewhat limited research does not reflect that the Reds (or Redlegs, if you prefer) ever wore such a uniform.

Does anyone else have a thought on this?

It's not even close. Reds jerseys from that era were all sleeveless and I don't believe ever had Redlegs printed on them.

That is my recollection as well.

Also, Southern never made uniforms for any MLB team. Was there ever a "Redlegs" minor league team down south?

I don't believe I have seen a topps baseball card from 1958 with that jersey style.

You should check 1959 cards to see photos of 1958 players. But this is not a Cincinnati Reds jersey,

Thanks Edenskr for posting the Minor League links...maybe Savannah or Palatka? Southern made jerseys from the Deep South, maybe Alabama or Louisiana...

What year would you place this McGregor Jersey?

Can you show a close up of the tag?
I assume the tag is forest green. Square shape is late 60s...rectangle is early to mid 60s. I am just going by the tagging...I'm sure someone can identify the style. If it's not flannel, then I'm stumped.

Forest Green is correct and the tag is barely rectangle, 1 1/2" by 1 3/4".
