    '06 Phillies Road Jerseys

...while watching the Phillies drop yet another game tonite vs. Atlanta,I noticed something different about their road jerseys. In previous seasons,I believe their practice was:
home jersey=name on back stitched directly to shirt
road jersey=nameplate stitched to back of shirt

..........while this year's home jersey is the same,it looks like they've eliminated the nameplate on the road jerseys and just stitched the names right onto the back of the jersey(this showed up very well on ESPN-HD).

At any rate,I guess you can avoid any '06 Phils road gamers with a nameplate!

Aren't the Cardinals doing the same thing this year?

(The NOBs were nameplate-free on their home jerseys this spring...first time in about 15 years.)

You're right, the Cardinals are no longer using name plates -- first time since 1988. The Cardinals used to have a local company sew on all the names and numbers, but now it's done by Majestic and delivered to the team ready to wear.
