Set Numbers on Game Used Jerseys

What do the Set Numbers mean on Game Used Jerseys.Like 20 44 08 S1.Same thing like 20 44 08 S2.It might have been talked about here before but I don't remember.Any help would be great.

I do believe that the 20 is the players number, 44 the size, 08 season, and S1 is set number. Im not 100% sure but I think thats right.

Geoff,

Set numbers tell you how many of a particular jersey were issued to a player. If you see a home white with S7 (set 7), you know 7 home white jerseys were issued. That is if S7 is the highest set number you have seen.
