Model R43 was Berra's model of choice throughout his career, beginning in early 1947 and continuing through 1962. From 1963 to the end, his bat of choice was Model B211, which he also used alot in 1959 and 1960. The vast majority of his bats were ordered at 35 inches in length, with weights usually between 33 ounces and 35 ounces.
His name was changed on the barrel signature to Yogi in 1953. R43 models with the earlier, non-Yogi signature were manufactured in all years between 1947 and 1952, and possibly into the 1953 season. Jim may be able to be more specific as th the exact date of the change.
