BMH - Bat identification help, please!

Brian ... I have a bat that I need some help dating & identifying. It's a Keith Hernandez LVS model U1 with a knobless handle and appears to be from 86-89. It's a signature model but appears it may be foil stamped. The bat measures 34 inches. There's nothing stamped on the knob but there is some writing I can't decipher.

I haven't been able to locate any photos of Keith using this type of knob and the U1 doesn't appear to be his normal model to the best of my knowledge. Attached are a few photos of the bat. I'd appreciate any help you might be able to provide.

    Thanks in advance.

Mike, I don't see the U1 noted anywhere in Keith's order records. The stamping on the bat looks retail, but: a.) Why would H&B put Hernandez's name on a retail bat of a model he never used?; and b.) Why isn't there a length stamped into the knob? I'm looking forward to hearing Brian's response.

We have C271's, H262's, M159's, M110's, etc, etc in his records, but no U1's.

        I honestly have no idea.

My only "guess" is it was a souvie with the ticket marked "ANY". In that case if the turner didn't want to make the model or had extra of something else it was usually substituted.
