Wayne Gretzky Game Used Stick - Question

    Hi Guy's,

I pulled the trigger, bid and won a game used Gretzky stick. I've wanted an early career Gretzky gamer and happened upon the auction on the closing night. I have little to no knowledge regarding the Gretzky stick market and went with my gut. I would appreciate any knowledgeable info good or bad about my purchase and any additional insight pertaining to Gretzky's game used hockey sticks.

Here's the link to the item I won http://www.classicauctions.net/Defau...d=51&lotid=342

    Thanks,
    John

Classic is quite a reputable auction house and specializes in hockey. I have handles a few Gretzky gamers, but it has been several years since doing so and the characteristics of them have faded from my memory.

You may want to cotact staff at his Toronto restaurant location http://www.gretzky.com/info/contact_...ent=restaurant

They employed the services of a curator over the years, and have several of his game used sticks on display in the restaurant. If you can't speak to the curator or there is no longer one working ther, perhaps a helpfull manager (Canadians' are nice) will email you some pics of the sticks on display, or comment on a pic that you might send them?

For reference..the manufacturer looks good (as referenced by the partial stick image in the header of the Restaurant's on-line store site (top right in this link):
