Any other Florida Gator collectors?

I just stumbled across this forum and was wondering if anyone else here collects memorabilia of the Florida Gators. I started out collecting hockey memorabilia and have been posting on gameworn.net for a long time, but thought I'd check here and see if anyone else collects the Gators.

As my name says, I am also a collector of Gator sports memorabilia. I have quite a few Gator gamers, but I focus more on game used jerseys of former Gators in the NFL, NBA, and MLB. You can see my whole collection at my website (check my signature). Are you an alum? I graduated from UF in 1987.

Hey, man, thanks for responding. Great collection and website! I'd love to put my collection on a formal site one day when I get the time. I really like how you have so many pro jerseys of former players. I really hope to find a Chris Leak Bears jersey one day (yeah right, I know). He and I are both from North Carolina originally, and he started UF when I did and won the title during my senior year.

I also plan on having a formal Gator room once I move out of my apartment and into something more permanent (that is if the market ever turns around). I'll definitely let you know if I come across any more helmets. They did have them around this time last year in the gator sportshop up in Gainesville for $300 a piece. I just picked up a couple of game-worn basketball jerseys I'll add to the webshots once they arrive.

It's not every day I come across another Gator collector. Do you know of any more out there?

Being hated for being so good is half the fun!

I don't hate Ohio State at all. They've never done anything that's impacted my life except help the Gators win national titles in two different sports. And FSU? I just find it hilarious that their tag line is "unconquered." :D

Honestly, my hat is off to Auburn, they beat us fair and square two years in a row, one of which we still went on to win a national title. On top of that, they have some of the classiest fans in the SEC - no sarcasm intended at all. I've never met a group of fans as pleasant to be around as Auburn fans - particularly after beating us in the swamp, they were great sports.

I'm pretty sure all they sell in Gainesville is racoon hats and eye patches.

im new to this site and i mainly collect gators autographs. i also have a couple baseball and football jerseys and i have nice collection of former gators game used bats. i'll try and post some pictures tomorrow.

I haven't ever seen any of the 08 jerseys for sale at the store. I did see quite a few of the players leave the stadium with family after the championship celebration with their jerseys slung over their shoulders - doesn't bode well, but I'll keep an eye out and let you know if I come across anything.

I am not so much, but my 7-year-old stepson is a fan (not sure where he got it being in Ohio) but I got him a game-worn helmet with the visor, some hit marks and BCS sticker on the back. He loves it!!!

He may have one in inventory or can get you one.

I was in Gainesville last weekend, and they have the '08 helmets for sale (with the BCS decal) for $400 a pop.

I would venture to guess Cory Bailey as he had this number for four years, (01-04) and seems to have little wear more consistent with special teams play, but in this world, who knows... =) That is what I tell the kid anyway... lol

I checked, and there werent player numbers on the inside of the helmet, so I'm not sure that there's any way to confirm who wore each helmet. They do have the year label inside them (see the pics of my Harvin helmet for reference - http://sports.webshots.com/album/563104458XQnITv).

What's up guys...funny, I'm a Gator collector and just found this forum as well. I've been collecting for a short time...first authentic jerseys and then game used/worn stuff. Small collection, but growing. It's nice to finally find a spot on the web to talk about this stuff.

As far as the 08 jerseys, I believe there is a waiting period before the school releases them for sale i.e. it's not directly after the season is over. I've heard several stories, so if anyone knows for sure, let me know.

I'm definately in awe of the collections posted, especially the Man Cave theatre room. (Homer Simpson..."aggggghhhhh") Go Gators!
