Paying More For A Slice Than The Whole Pie?

I can't believe that people pay this much for a little piece of a bat when they can have a whole thing for less I don't get it

Some people collect trading cards, and the newer trends is limited cards, such as a limited edition 1 of 1 or in this case six total cards produced. Most of the sports memorabilia collectors in the world collect trading cards only, they don't collect game used memorabilia as the majority of this forum does.

I would never pay the price for this card it will sell for myself, but I can see how the people who pay these prices determine the value. Again, it is modern card collecting.

I'd rather buy cards from the first half of the century myself, those are really rare, not a 1 of 1 card of a modern superstar (or even vintage superstar).

Joel is right. It's more about the card. Collectors pay good money for the chase cards.
