I got an unsolicited email from Tom Duino asking if I 'd be interested in an Ed Hearn bat. HEARN bats are rare so when I see one or get offered one I 'm typically interested.

I really didn't know who Tom was but he indicated he received a LOT of bats from a contact in the minors and picked up the HEARN knowing I was a collector. I eventually found out via some old Forum posts that Tom is a big CA Angels collector and is well known amongst CA collectors.

Well, the bat arrived today and it's awesome. So I'd like to publicly say thank you Tom for helping me add this bat to my collection of HEARN gamers!

Nice bat! I guess when the name HEARN pops up, there cant be too many others than Ed!

Just curious, how does it match up to his shipping records? ('m sure that you have them memorized! :) )

Fortunately Ed Hearn was the only HEARN in the MLB during that time frame.

BMH supplied the bat records last month:

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Almost all his orders were 35in/33-34oz C271's.
He only ordered twelve G131's once in 7/1989 playing for the Omaha Royals.

For the Mets he only ordered the C271's and P72's.

Now I'm looking for a P72 which is the only model I don't have. You always find out there something that you have:D

Shared a few long emails with Tom. Class act. That he went out of his way like this shows just how nice he is... Feel good story.

I too have recieved an email from Tom. It also was unsolicited. He said that he would look for Angels game tix. He noticed my post for homerun tix. He said that he couldn't promise anything. If he came across any, he would send them to me. What a guy. Nice Hearn bat, by the way.:D

I appreciate all the kind comments from each of you, and was glad to help out at least David with the Ed Hearn bat for his collection. I hope to be able to help out others in the future and keep this hobby fun. Adding smiles to a few faces makes my day!

Cheers,

Tom Duino

I had a real great talk with Tom tonight what a nice guy he is. We talked about game used bats and other equipment that we both collect. I just want to say THANKS for your time and your emails.

It was also great speaking with Jamie tonight. His passion for his Brewers is evident. Always fun to talk about the stories and background on the players and their game used items. I know Jamie is a fan and collector since we spoke for quite a while and he never brought up the value of items.

Cheers,

Tom Duino

Hey Tom, I'm on standbuy when you feel the desire to move a GU uncracked Tigers gamer from the 35/45/68/84 Tigers teams...

All the best -

Bob:rolleyes:
