    Bobby Bonilla L/S S318 Question

I recently acquired a second Bonilla L/S S318 this one from his Pittsburg days. I have one from the Mets. I quickly noticed the difference in length between the two same models. Pittsburg 33 3/4 and New York 34 7/8 inches. Why the difference in the same model and if so why go to a heavier bat later in your career?

My best guess is he wanted to, I stopped questioning why players order bats the way they do a long time ago.

        Brian,
So a particular model bat is not indictitive of a set length and weight? Then what do different model numbers mean?-Robert

Re: Bobby Bonilla L/S S318 Question

Models are about the shape of the bat, nothing more. You can order any of our models for Pro use from 33in-36in. I'll go to 32in but that technically changes the model to much to keep it proportional. Weight is only governed when it weighs less than it's length. MLB rules say a bat cannot weigh less than 3.5oz under it's length. Going above the length is only governed by how heavy a billet you can form the bat from.

Brian, last question. The top of the bat,in this case hollowed out and round version ,they're not part of the shape of the S318?
