the stamping of the name throws me off but other than that it looks legit just seems odd the stamping of the name bmh said in another post that slugger has been using the same branding letters for 40-50 years and the burner for 90+ years other the same letters burnt on other players bats look different not as tall and compared to everything else on the bat it his name is very lightly burned in i know on the barrel portion of the bat i think they burn everything together like they set it all up together model number player name and team so it would seem that everything would have gotten equally burned in .....

i retract the statement about his name a quick search of getty found him holding a blonde H and B bat and his name is burnt in the same way as the bat listed on ebay so it seems like a legit gamer

The reason for the light name on the barrel is because it's a foil stamped bat from 1985. HB didn't burn names on bats for this year. As long as it matches factory records, it's a great bat. The GUU store has a Fisk bat very similar to this one.

I can't explain the reversal of the number on the knob. If 72 was on the knob, the bat wouldn't be priced that low.
